Everything except the valet parking (that service was good & prompt, though); self park would have been preferable. Staff-ALL staff-was excellent, highly competent & knowledgeable, courteous, professional and friendly. I believe that the SFA hotel staff could compare favorably with hotels ANYWHERE. Only indoor pool; outdoor pool would have been preferable. Would have rather had self-parking available than valet parking
Good location, clean, quiet, air conditioned, restaurant attached, computer in lobby to print your boarding pass.
In "nice" hotels like this, one oftentimes encounters staff workers that are acerbic and demeaning w/o realizing it because the culture of the environment encourages that behavior. The staff in this case was excellent and down to earth. They smiled and laughed when I joked around w/ them (and I am funny .... and cute!). Most notably was our concierge, "Chenisse Johns," OUTSTANDING!. She was so helpful w/ many of our questions whether giving us directions for local restaurants or providing us w/ an upgrade in our room - which we took advantage of on the last night of our stay! The rooms on the 16th floor were fantastic and grand. They were quiet, allowing us to really SLEEP & wake up refreshed. I definitely would stay here again. OH, it's right in the heart of downtown, thus one can walk anywhere from the hotel.
No problems with reservation. Location was superb. Concierge was delightful. Difficult to find in the dark. We found the room a bit small and not quite enough room in the bathroom. The water and/or the plumbing had an off-putting smell.
nice decoration, nice ambiance, good room, was standard double very noisy airconditioning, should really be improved
Location was great and the staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful.
Very nice hotel in a great location My room was very small for the price
Cleanliness, and friendly staff. Downtown location is great for exploring 6th st area. South Congress is a long walk (esp. in hot sun), but was still do-able. Parking at the hotel is $40 / night by valet. We ended up at a nearby garage @ $24 / night.
Very close to downtown clubs and restaurants. Good restaurant on 18th floor. Safe area. Very tiny pool. Really it was the same size as the spa. It was just for cooling off.
The location is excellent for Austin downtown activities Poor Internet connection
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful here and the price was better than most hotels in the city. We really enjoyed our stay here! Valet parking is pricey
Breakfast was delicious, beds were adjustable, room had great amenities, very clean, greatly enjoyed my stay The hallways were a little loud
Good front desk service Checkout isn't till 11pm. House keeping kept trying to come in before 9am , kept waking us up twice!
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to the location for the wedding we were attending.
Great location for access to entertainment. Excellent buffet breakfast to tide us through the day. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cigarette butts in surrounding walkway near the river. Nearby ash tray. People are pigs. Sofa bed sheets pretty rough.
The place was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was excellent and the location is great if you want to hit the downtown Austin touristy stuff (which is plentiful). The bathroom was extremely small (you had to step outside the bathroom to dry off), and rather weirdly, the toilet was shallow -- which I mention because you WILL get wet using this toilet. Very uncomfortable for a man. Never seen a toilet like that, and I hope to never see another one again. The AC didn't work well and was a bit noisy.
Convenient location $16 a plate for breakfast with no warning. $30 mandatory valet with no warning.
Good room nice both room
Location and price. The front desk person was not accommodating. Had booked a king bed for my wife and I and at check in was simply told they don't have one and that we would need to take a room with 2 double beds instead if her upgrading us to a different room w a king. Upon arrival at our room, the keys did not work and then had to move rooms
The staff was amazing. Very nice and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect for what we wanted. The room was a bit muggy and humid.
Double charged me.
Helpful, friendly staff. Sundries shop open 24 hours. Housekeeping sometimes didn't supply enough shampoo for 2 people.
I was able to book the room right before KW Mega Camp at a great rate. It's right next to the Convention center and close enough to 6th Street. It could have come with a fridge instead of having to request it and bottled water.
Location, Staff, and Comfy Expensive Valet.
The staff is very courteous and welcoming. The location is great if you want to enjoy a night on the town without having to drive. The rooms look nice and were clean. Parking says $29 a day for guests (actually $37.89 after all fees). I was charged for valet parking, which I never used so I had to call and dispute it. There was a party going on down the hall which did not bother us, until we got a voicemail saying we were going to get kicked out if we get another noise complaint in the morning from management on the first night. We decided to stay away from the hotel for as long as possible to be safe. We asked for a specific room type. Just in case, called the hotel before we arrived to make sure it was ready. They confirmed everything was ready. Once we arrived, they put us in a different room than requested and said it was the best they could do.
Interiors are super nice and clean. The room itself is spacious and comfortable. Staff was accommodating with all our requests. As other peoole mentioned, you probably will be passing by the homeless shelter anytime you travel South (rainey, 6th, the river). It didn't feel dangerous but I probably would be nervous walking past there alone at night.
When they were dealing with challenges related to the new construction including poor hot water supply in my room. They rose to the challenge of some construction challenges with a new building and quickly got me moved to a new room and were empathetic and understanding.
THE HOTEL IS CENTRALIZED NOT THAT I REMEMBER
location The staff is not friendly at all It felt like it was a chore to speak with me instead of smiling and inviting me to ask them for anything that might make my stay more comfortable
Courteous staff. Police officer patrolled lobby during late nights due to bars in area. AC vent blew dust on the head of the bed, WHILE SLEEPING. Standup shower overflowed due to a clogged drain, while getting dressed for a close friend's wedding! Had to hold handle down to flush the toilet every. Single. Time.

The entire staff was exceptional as was the property. Hotel employee provided service with an excellent attitude.
The openness of the floor plans in the rooms, large bathrooms, good counter space, full length mirror, keurig -- everything I needed! Also, when my flight got delayed, they let me extend my time until checkout. This was much appreciated! Great staff. Minor complaint, but the tv in the room was painfully slow switching from channel to channel.
Poolside area is fantastic. Breakfasts' were great. Friendly, accommodating staff. We were very happy with the location mid-way between downtown and UT and on bus service to the airport. Nice sized rooms, particularly the bathrooms. The location will not be for everyone. Walking in most directions means interaction with the unfortunate homeless population that was prevalent throughout Austin. We had a minor issue with housekeeping but it was very quickly and graciously resolved.
the pool was great as were the rooms. Front staff passive aggressive.Canhear the loud music from the bar on the other side of the road. No one slept until 1am b/c of music. Parking is very expensive and homeless guy approached me for $. Otherwise, you can find cheaper street parking
The employees were nice and check in was very quick. The bathroom ceiling of our room had a leak that covered the floor with water. It was gross and unsanitary. The location of this hotel is bad. It is close to a homeless shelter which causes the surrounding streets to be dirty and smell of urine.
Staff was very helpful, place was clean, well located across the street from the Driskill and at the start of dirty sixth. Pretty easy to get around with walking, bus or taxi. Overall I would strongly recommend this place for single travelers looking for a hostel experience in Austin, cant imagine they will find anything better Would be nice if there were drapes that covered the bed like I have had at other hostels and power outlets next to each bed so when you are on the top bunk it's easier to charge your phone. Also, the lockers could be a tiny bit bigger, not that they were small, but my bag was a regular airline bag and if the locker was just a tiny bit bigger I could have fit the entire thing in there (thats what she said)
