Wow! What an exceptional hotel. Like you, I read reviews and do diligent research before booking a room anywhere I travel. This hotel had awesome reviews so I took a leap of faith and booked my weekend in Austin. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a friendly desk attendant and given the keys to our room. The room was very, very nice. Good use of space, clean smell and feel, plentiful amenities, fresh bedding and towels AND a basket of snacks...complimentary! The breakfast was great too. There is a featured breakfast item each morning. The first night we were there, people were fighting in the parking lot at 4am. We called the front desk and saw the manager go outside and ask the people to leave. By the way, pool stays open til 11...great place to relax after a long day downtown. Exceptional customer service and the ONLY thing'Super 8' about this place is the name. Will most DEFINITELY return to this hotel the next time we're in Austin!
Grandma and Grandpa came back to Austin to celebrate the grandsons 3rd birthday. We ONLY Stay at this hotel. Staff is great, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. Especially like the cookies and cake at night. Grandma and Grandpa go back to Florida ! But we will return !
The room was clean and relaxing. The staff was great. The rate was reasonable. Whenever I need a hotel in Austin, I will definitely keep these guys in mind!
I stayed here 2 times. I found the rooms to have nice amenities for a 2 star hotel. Large, plasma TVs, comfortable beds, clean, nice extras provided by the hotel (water bottle, and snacks). The breakfast buffet was good and included hot foods and Starbucks coffee. The only problems I had occurred during the second time I stayed. The room was big and nice with a little kitchenette (they charged me more too), but it was very chilly. The room had an air/heat unit under the window, with a sign that indicated that the unit was controlled by a thermostat on the wall. The panel on the unit under the window had a lock on it. I found the thermostat on the wall and set it to heat, set the temperature and went to bed. The heat never came on and I was cold. At 4:30 in the morning I was so cold I couldn't sleep. I called the front desk and he just told me to do what I already had done. He offered to come up to the room to take a look, but it was 4:30 in the morning, I was not in any mood to have a ...
I spent less in 3days on this hotel than at others in one night, I still received better service, free wifi and of course the free breakfast. No problems with sound, everyone was nice. Best of all, compared to here in Washington, pretty much every single person i talked to in Austin were very nice and helpful. *You need a room key or someone inside to open the door for you, secure!
Went into this property eyes wide open; it is a Super 8 property. We were completely surprised. This place was a great value! Ceiling fan, granite counters, great towels, very comfy bed and free food. We loved this place. Interesting note: every room has its own cool name, so if you like a room you can request it by name. We were very close to town and for the money this place can't be touched.
Pros-The hotel had many little things that just made me smile because they were an effort to show they wanted to please their customers (laundry basket, scale, free treats in a basket in room, pilllow menu, cd player on alarm clock, dvd player with dvd selections in lobby, books to borrow in lobby as well, little store in lobby, free dessert and coffee in the lobby (evening). The hotel was CLEAN which is the only thing I care about when hotel shopping. The desk staff was courteous and knew the area well to direct help me downtown with a map and directions. Bed was comfy and room had basic amenities. Quiet location. Breakfast, although not gourmet, had hot options and offered a nice little selection. Cons-The location is not really near anything, but is within 5 miles of the downtown area. I'm really trying here as I am usually quite picky, but on this stay we did not have any negative experiences. Overall, this is not what you would expect or receive from your average 2 star hotel. ...
If you are looking for a CLEAN, PLEASANT hotel stay, this is your hotel. The owners are on the premises. The staff is welcoming and always willing to help. Guess what? you get homemade cake or cookies at night! What a treat. The coffee is always available and they have flavors to put in the coffee. The Long Horn Suite is the best. The pool and hot tub are always open and clean. This was about our 5th stay in this hotel since our son moved to Austin and we would not stay anywhere else

We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel hadn't been open too long when we stayed. The rooms were nice and clean, but they seemed a little small for a family with 2 big teen age boys. Loved the 'continental breakfast.' It was more like a restaurant! Very good food. We would definitely stay here again.
My friends and I stayed at this hotel when we completed the Danskin Triathlon. We loved everything about it. It was so close to the venue, the desk staff was great about letting us check out a little late after our event and the coffee bar in the lobby is GREAT!!
The room had rather strange hippie decor and the treadmill in the fitness center was nonoperational.
Very kind and helpful staff Clean Pretty comfy bed Good location Breakfast left something to be desired; the waffle maker IS shaped like Texas however.
staff was nice but it was noisy all night long ... people coming and going all night lone.
I was out of there quick without getting killed First room was full of smoke, requested a change to another one that had less smokey smell. Bathtub had pubic hair in it. Had to goto the store and get disinfectant. Called front desk and requested a partial refund.. Have not heard back. Price is high, go elsewhere and pay the extra $15 for cleanliness and less sketchy people hanging out in the parking lot.
It was bad.... Bugs everywhere I didn't like rooms, smell bad in the room! Bugs on the floor!
It was a 15 min walk away from the mall They seemed to have a shortage of towels. They never knew when the rooms were going to be cleaned. I waited for hours one day and they never came
When looking for a cheap motel, I expected a ratty 1980's bed spread and carpet that required shoes 24/7. This place was clean, new and fresh. Perfect for our impromptu Austin adventure.
Bathroom looked dirty, shower head leaked, no hair dryer in room, no shampoo, etc., sketchy area of town
Price was cheapest in town. The details on Kayak listed "Entertainment - Wi-Fi and satellite channels" but they charged $2.99 for Wi-Fi (it's the principle not the cost). Additionally even though I had the room furthest from the Freeway, the traffic noise was constant.
Location Bed sheets stained, water pressure super low, very flat pillows, remote control for TV not working, requested to change rooms and not help with that
Not a thing at all! The drug deals in the parking lot with plenty of thugs lurking around. The room itself was very stinky muggy and hot with cockroaches already living there permanently.
Found 7 roaches in the first hour! Water pressure wasnt enough to get the shampoo ouf of my hair. There is only sheets on the bed so if u get cold suck It up. Worst motel I have ever been to!!! Will not stay here again. Would rather sleep in my car.
We didn't get at time, because our flight was late twice, so i called motel 6 to said that we arrived late, at 8am and then didn't refund our money because we didn't stay there.
Room was clean and comfortable. It was definitely on the small size for a room and was a little cramped for the 4 people we had staying there but for the price it was certainly acceptable.
I liked that I didn't die or get hurt. It's in a sketchy part of Austin. There are roaches everywhere. The bathroom floor was literally mushy, because water had gone under the stick-on floor laminate. Beds were far from comfortable, had a dip in the middle of the mattress. Pubes on the pillow (!!!!). No fridge or microwave. No closet. But the people were the worst part. Other guests were so seedy the motel has a security guard at night and a CURFEW. I witnessed a fist fight and the police showing up. I heard a very loud verbal fight outside my window the first night, then the second night was worse: someone kept yelling, "NO PLEASE DON'T!" over and over, then I heard what sounded like physical struggle, and then a lot of human whimpering. I literally couldn't tell if they were male or female. It was horrifying. I called 911. I will NEVER stay there ever again.
Nothing Felt unsafe.. Looks like a hotel that rents by the hour. Suppose to stay 4 nights, stayed 1 night and went to a nearby wyndam for remaining 3 days of our stay.. We normally not very picky because we don't spend much time in a hotel room but this was a miserable nights experience..
Price Makes sense how cheap it is. Between the random drifters and the cigerette burns in the blanks and desk, you get what you paid for. Drop another $15 and reasonable to stay there. And get stab insurance.
Its not a value for money stay
The location was the only good thing. Rooms where too small. Had to pay for WiFi with a prepaid card, but they had sold out. Bathroom was gross, shower had no water pressure. Ice machine didn't work. We will definitely not be staying there again.
Quiet, good location near interesting food places, cafes and bars. Friendly staff. Price. Small
This was the cheapest accommodation available during graduation weekend. we still paid over 140 dollars a night. this is a motel where the rooms exit outside and you pay a fellow sitting behind bullet proof glass. Don't expect the Ritz. That said, everything was reasonably clean, the king size bed was just fine, and everything worked inside the room other than the lock on the door that seem to stick a bit, but that wasn't that big of a deal.
Location The owner/manager did not allow any visitors. He threatened to call the police if my best friend did not leave immediately. I have never in my life encountered such a rude person.
Absolutely nothing Everything. From the staff to the room being subpar: lights don't work, fridge doesn't work, no smoke alarm.
N/A The room was dirty, there were stains on the walls/beds/tub/toilet/fridge/microwave. The microwave was dirty and also old as if it was bought in the 1980's. The fridge didn't turn on so it was of no use while we stayed. The manager was disrespectful/rude
Absolutely nothing. This hotel was horrible! It was filthy. Smelled terrible. We even talked about just sleeping in the car. Truly disgusting. The staff was rude and unfriendly. Worst hotel experience of my life.

Almost nothing. La Quinta is cheaper and much better. Doesn't look safe, they scan driver's license to provide to police in case of 'something', no breakfast at all, rooms don't look pretty clean etc.

Great location for usCompletely remodeled inside the roomLooks like they are trying to update everything. Great price and would definately stay there again Don't let the outside fool you. Looks pretty rundown but the room was very nice. I think it may be in the middle of some remodel
Location was the most important factor. Not many hotels going west of Austin. The rooms and bathrooms have been updated. All the hotels in the area raised rates for that Friday night! Scalpers! Thank god I'm financially better off now than years past otherwise would have slept in my truck.
Price Gross. Smelled horrible and was just nasty. Bathroom wouldn't stop running, sheets weren't all that clean. Will definitely never stay there again. It was just the only place available during sxsw so beggers can't be choosers.

The price was great! The hotel was a pleasant surprise. The parking lot is an odd setup.
We chose this hotel solely because of it's close proximity to the neighborhood where we were visiting. UT was playing on the weekend we were staying in Austin, and all of the other normal priced hotels had raised their prices sky high! Other hotel reviews mentioned the roaches, and yes, we saw lots of small roaches. The room did smell like smoke, but we understood that when we reserved the room. The exterior of the hotel was in need of repair, and there were smears on the walls.
Newly rehabbed room. Very nice. Good customer service.
Had an available room! Sheets were clean and free wifi. Did not like the room, but was the only room available at the time. The pillows were in need of immediate replacement. Just did not have a clean feel about it!
The hotel was recently remodeled. All furniture were new including beds. The bathroom was also completely new and clean. The ice machine was always full. For the price it was fantastic 2 star. The refridgerator was not working. The room was very hot and muggy when we checked it. However, the air conditioner was in good working order and cooled the room after a while. I brought my own toiletries - shampoo, conditioner etc. Glad I did.
The price was right for Austin, the room appeared to have been renovated lately, it was somewhat spartan but clean.
