Centrally located in the heart of downtown Whitehorse. Friendly staff, and clean, updated rooms (including no carpet floors -which was great).
Quiet, good location
Good location and rooms were simple and
The staff was great. The room was a little run down. They did not have a way to get suitcases upstairs in their rooms.
The price. I have been to Whitehorse many many times and have found recently that the hotels are charging way too much so I thought I would try this place. The room was clean and quiet. If you are on a budget this is the place. When I first got there , even though it was paid in advance the check in person asked me for a $100 damage deposit. The walls must not have sound proofing because you could hear people talking. Internet was good as well.
The Riverview is in a bad neighborhood with a lot of alcoholic and drug users on the street right outside the hotel. They also no longer have pet-friendly rooms even though their website says they do. Not a safe place to stay.
I suppose you get what you pay for. The price was right and the room accommodated our family of 4 perfectly. One of our tv remotes was missing when we first arrived and the gentlemen at the counter kindly and quickly replaced it for us. Overall, it was pretty dirty and when laying down to sleep at night a bug crawled across me.
Very friendly staff, restaurant on site. No air conditioner. But, it's he Yukon, so the days we need it are few and far between.
It is conveniently located downtown and is affordably priced. The room I stayed in had a serious roof leak. I was awoken in the middle of the night because my bed was completely saturated from the roof dripping onto the bed. I told the front desk attendant about the incident in the morning. Her response was' sorry'
Price. And it was available. No sound proofing of rooms. I heard someone next door sneeze clearly.
It was clean and the price was good. It was centrally located. It was quite. It was basically next door to a very seedy motel. So walking at night was not an option. The parking left a lot to be desired.
All the questions above an price no
That it allows pets. That it cost $25 extra per pet a night.
It was clean and easily accessible to downtown. It didn't have air conditioning in the room and the air became very stagnant making sleeping difficult.
* Nice updated look* Surprised to find a 2-person hot-tub in the room!* Good customer service * Restaurant in the lobby not open later (probably beyond hotel's control?)* Side entrace to parking lot not open? Would be more convenient to load / unload vehicle during a stay.
The dancing with the wolves motif is very rugged. Appreciated the courtesy computer No complimentary breakfast. Gym was shameful.
The Room was nice and clean. Staff is friendly It's not that we didn't like but I wished that they had breakfast even it's just a continental breakfast.
The food at the restaurant we did stay at was good. Yes, they deleted our booking before we arrived and did not have a room for us. They did put us at another hotel however at the same rate.
The staff was nice and I do like the central location. The wifi only worked in the hallway. The beds were rock hard - used our camping sleeping pads to help make it softer.
Clean, comfort , I would stay again! Small fridge and small microwave in room would be handy
This hotel is perfectly fine. It's not a fancy place, but it's clean and has a restaurant and bar. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. It is within walking distance to a lot of interesting places, including the river walk which is really cool. If you are driving here, and don't arrive early, finding a non metered parking spot is a chore. The hotel lot is very small. The meters start at 9:00, so if you sleep in, you're probably going to get a ticket.
We could clearly hear the people above us walking around and using the bathroom.
Good location, clean and tidy. Fine for me, but no elevator. Best not to book if you have mobility issues.
the location to shopping and restaurants was all in walking distance
The morning desk was polite. Night desk was slightly rude.
Great location. Gives a bad first impression, but is a nice place to stay.
The location See the above
The hotel was tastefully decorated and beds were comfortable. We had to take a kitchenette room at a higher price because they had no pet rooms. Kayak & other travel websites do not mention this nor do they mention there will be a pet deposit. The room was generally clean but behind and under furniture there was a lot of dust. They did not give me a receipt either
Unique setting & concept. Lots of dogs serenading guests most mornings. Winter dog sledding will be my next visit to Muktuk. Lodge renovations in progress during our stay, hence somewhat low rating for the room.
I work in Skagway Alaska for the summer and my friend and I just needed to get away from the tourist for a few days. The staff was really friendly and accommodating. Some of the kitchen dishes were dirty in our cabin. Also, there were mosquitoes everywhere so if you stay during the summer come prepared.
