I loved the room service breakfast. And how close it was to everything to do in downtown Sacramento. I had such a blast and everyone was pleasant and helpful during our stay. Definitely staying here again in the fire
Clean, modern room Did not have free parking or WIFI
Great location. Walking distance to restaurants. Donut shops. Thrift store shopping everything. We stayed for an athletic event but had some time to do other stuff. Close to a 7 eleven if you need a quick snack and self parking was across the street but easy to get to. A lot of homeless in the area but there is nothing the hotel can do about that. Just be cautious when walking at night.
We attended a function in the downtown area and the location was perfect. Room key did not work initially, I called the front desk from a house phone and an employee checked my identification and opened the door, he returned a short while later with a new key.
Clean rooms. The TV service is worst I have seen anywhere. Very basic service. A major basketball game is on ( Warriors ) and they did not have the channel, really! This is a business hotel in Sacramento. I go to the lobby bar and they have two flat screens circa 2005. Spend $1400 at Costco for two new flat screens. They missed the attention to detail that is required in this market. Will not stay there again.
The Lobby, the Gym, the pool and the rooms are great. I also enjoyed the very friendly and helpful staff during the Sunday Brunch. Having to wait in line for 5 minutes for the elevator in my floor and up to 10 minutes in the lobby. There was a lot of people and the elevators took forever.
The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were lovely. The reception staff were not very friendly or helpful. They didn't seem suited to the service industry. The concierges were very helpful and friendly.
hotel staff there was no refrigerator; it cost to use wi fi; it was too expensive for one bed that was advertised as a double; it was noisy.
Downtown location. Good valet parking service. No minibar
Proximity to convention center, willingness of staff to accommodate requests
Location and room Staff didn't seem to know the area. I had to go to a coffee shop to even know what neighborhood the hotel was in.
Location. Cannot believe the room have no Internet connection included in the price.
I could walk to my event down town and I could walk to the capitals as well Amenities fairly limited, the wifi was very poor in my room. Download speed about 5MB/Sec upload speed less than 1 MB/Sec
The neighborhood didn't feel very friendly, and my room smelled very stale.
Cleanest room I have stayed at in a long time. Very close to midtown and plenty of goody spots. Year round open pool with solar heating. Plenty of free parking to boot!!! And the shower / amenities in the room have definitely been thought over when planning the comfort of the guest.
Room was really nice, very clean. Bed was comfortable. The wifi was terrible, it cut out every couple of minutes. The water pressure was super weak, very hard t get clean.
Room very clean, nice attention to detail, bed very comfortable, good wifi. Love the indoor/outdoor feel of the hallways. Breakfast very processed and ho-hum. This was my third stay here and this time my window overlooked the light rail which was noisy early in the morning.
We stayed for a week-long conference at the convention center, which was three easy blocks walking distance away. The breakfast hours were convenient, and there was a wide selection of food, including waffles and biscuits and gravy. Comfortable beds, quiet rooms, and friendly staff all contributed to a pleasant stay. It was great to have a fridge and microwave in the room for storing and heating leftovers. The only bad thing I can think of to say is that there were some holes in the bedskirts that I noticed, and the sleep function on the TV remote didn't work.
Staff were friendly, breakfast was good, good location with easy parking Our room had a musty smell to it, as if the shower curtain needed to be changed out. We got in at 2:00 am and left the next morning. Had it not been for the brevity of our stay, we probably would have asked for a different room.
There was food Very cramped dinning space, couldn't push stroller very well there and also no scrambled eggs were available
Staff is extremely helpful and friendly - made us feel like they actually wanted us to be there. Breakfast was great; beds were excellent; bathrooms great . Fitness room was minimal.
I have always loved this building, and nice hotel rooms for less than $150/night are in short supply in downtown Sacramento. The Sterling gave us outstanding value for a spacious room with enormous Jacuzzi bathtub and beautiful four-poster bed in a gorgeous historic Victorian era home. Check in and check out experience efficient and pleasant, with flexibility on a little extra time for check out. I would definitely stay again and recommend to friends with caveats below. There is on the street parking but it is metered with a two-hour limit after 8am or before 6pm Mon-Sat, so you will get a parking ticket if you sleep in. The street gutter was filled with leaves, making it a little messy for shoes and luggage. There is a $16 city lot just a block away... But it is a block away. A valet service would be ideal. As other guests have commented, some room elements such as sinks are beginning to show signs of age, but they did not detract from the outstanding value of our room.
The hotel's location was great! There was stagnant water in the bowed bathtub, the bathroom itself was filthy overall. The carpet in front of the bathroom seemed like it was constantly wet for no reason. The parking lot had a intense repugnant odor for 2 of my 3 day stay.
The price Slightly ghetto
Very nice staff and location.......not perfect rooms but for the price was great!!!
Clean quiet room for a good price in a good location. Nothing fancy. I liked it all
