The employees were friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Great location! Food carts across the street. Cheap bread and cheap muffins for breakfast. When we pulled the sheets back to get into bed, they had food and short, curly hairs on the sheets.
Conveniently located for visit to family members and close to desired activities, as well as ease of public transportation. Little selection for continental breakfast and few options for breakfast close by during weekend visit.
We booked a 1-King-bed room. Our 5yr old grandson ended up coming with us, so we called & asked if we could switch rooms. The very pleasant woman said, "Oh, you don't need to - there's a hide-a-bed in the room." When we arrived after 9pm, tired after driving all day, the man at the front desk said they don't even have hide-a-beds anymore. We were forced to pay $10 more for the last 2-queen room. Irritating.
location good Smell from cleaning spray and previous smoker. Mattress lumpy
For the money, this was a great value! The price was so much better than the airport hotels, and it was only a few exits SW of downtown on I-5. The property was VERY clean, very nice and well-kept. For an independently owned hotel, the owners have obviously worked very hard to keep pace with the offerings of the major chains. I would definitely recommend. I do wish the breakfast was a little more robust (eggs, or bacon or sausage), but really the food was fine for the price we paid for the room. No complaints, really.
People at the desk were very friendly. The area had a couple sketchy characters about and the night desk clerk roved the premises for safety. Loved that since I was walking the dog alone. Overall a great stop for the cheap cost.
The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Amenities were great, with expanded cable, DVD player, fridge and microwave, and especially very good wireless internet. The staff is very friendly and courteous, always willing to help with any problems I had. It is conveniently located close to the airport, a lightrail station and the interstate, but also sort of off the beaten path so it makes the surroundings quieter and not so busy. Some people have commented on the lack of either an exercise room or pool, but I think that is not really as important, especially in Portland, where trails and parks abound very close to everywhere, and you can still get your workout. For the price, this is a great motel and it is my go-to place to stay whenever I'm in the Portland area. What downsides I noticed were all fairly minor in nature and not really things the owners can be faulted for. The location, though convenient to the airport and other ground transportation, is still quite far out from the city center. There are train tracks across the street from the hotel, so once in a while you hear one go by. The parking lot can be a little tight, so be careful when pulling your car in or out.
My husband and I had a great stay here. The room was very nice and modern. It was clean and the bed and pillows were really comfortable. The staff was very friendly. Nordic Motel was much nicer than any motel I've ever stayed in. It's a bit of a trek to the downtown Portland area if you are going by public transit, but I already knew that when I booked it so I can't really complain. The train across the street is noisey in the morning but it doesn't run on the weekend so that wasn't really an issue either.
It was small and quiet. They won't refund my $20 deposit. I had to call my creditcard company to get it back. Such a pain and not worth the headache.
Updated, clean and neat. Owners were very nice. Would stay again.
The hotel seemed slightly oversold, but I think it was a good value. The atmosphere was of a motel, but it was a good motel. The room was excellent. Neighborhood not great, but ok. I think they should not have bothered with the continental breakfast. They did not replenish the coffee in my room. That wouldn't matter, except that I kept expecting them to. The staff was fine, other than this minor issue, which they probably would have corrected if I had raised it with them.
Old and a little worn but clean and cheap. Large rooms. Felt kind of run down, cheap mattresses and linens, old furniture.
Great value, A very friendly and helpful staff. room was larger than expected. A very light breakfast, muffins / coffee / juice, but it was free.
Nothing Everything... I wanted to cry when I pulled up. It was rated as a two star , compared to comfort in. I would rate it a 1/2 star. I felt scared and unsafe.
NOTHING Shady location and shady character roaming around. I did not feel safe staying in this hotel.
Nothing The front door did not close properly, hair on the bed, bugs in the sink and on the wall, stains all over the walls, musty smell, the room would not cool down.
Location - close to 205. This hotel was not a two star hotel for sure. There were some shady characters in the parking lot at night. When I wanted to check out of the hotel, the front desk staff was nowhere to be found for a good amount of time.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
The location, it was closer to the Woodstock area than anticipated I requested a non-smoking room and the sign on the door stated the room (RM 201) was non-smoking. I could smell smoke in the corridor and inside the room. My luggage and clothes reek of smoke when I got home. Didn't needed the second-hand smoke bonus!
Close to Pdx Not well kept. Loud, parking lot full of activities...probably not legal ones.
They allow pets! Pretty close to Portland downtown. Not really
the piece and quiet the staff after hours was frequented quests in their rooms
The bed was a little better than I had expected. The rooms smelled bad, they weren't very clean, the staff member who checked me in was incredibly slow at doing so, and I could only get one channel on the TV.
The hotel was located super close to the airport and dining. Perfect for what I needed. The staff is horrific. I was treated like I was renting the room by the hour. Unpleasant, non-friendly, unwelcoming front desk person 'greeted' me to the sounds of the manager having an argument with Rico in the office. Hospitality service=forgotten!
The front counter staff was very polite and helpful. She tried to correct our problem (expected a non-smoking room) but was not able to due to the type of reservation. We were not able to stay at the hotel and walked away...lesson learned. Unable to breathe the air in the room. The exterior was in disrepair (A/C unit in pieces) and the condition of the interior was even worse.
Bad breakfast, curtains were softer than the comforter.
Clean, bed was comfortable, friendly staff, easy to find Breakfast was okay, because it was close to the airport you could really hear the planes taking off
The waffles and the shuttle service as well as the room/tv channels A bit far from the max but luckily the shuttle service takes people to the airport stop and picks them up when you call
Knowing that we had booked a motel based on a lower price we weren't expecting a luxurious motel . With that said we were greeted with very friendly and helpful staff and a clean room . The location was ideal and it was quiet . The shower was not working well .
Somewhere to sleep? Crackheads rapping upon our chamber door. A night all alone i hear a rumble, so alone, er tho rumbles a crackhead so noir. Through some peephole a menace beyonde below, begging for smoke, and no more, we wished him a well travel, but sent him off with black a mild a plenty, such a uncouthed vagrant he beggdd for scrapped, yest be cast him about a yappin. Quote the crackhead "You-aint-got no mo?'". "'Tis my last square." I uttered. Though i may have softly spoken, desipite the reefer i'd been smoking., i said, "no more" "In my robe of complementary so galore I uttered begone harlot so wishing to be galore. Alas, I stayed in hotel of the trees, though noisiness never let me get a nut. Like an acorn, their rating fell, like a bat out of hell. A wonderful trip still happrnened nut unto ye, old chestnut tree.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, with answers to all of our questions. Having the in-room fridge was incredibly useful. Water pressure was decent, and sufficiently hot as needed. Over all, we were quite satisfied. This is more of a comment towards Portland in general, but the cigarette smoke was pretty heavy around there. We were in a no-smoking room, but we could still smell it with all the doors and windows closed, when people outside would light up. Similarly, my mother was staying in a no-smoking room a few doors down from us, and her room was permeated with the smell.
There wasn't anything to like about this place. To start, when I arrived, they panicked because they didn't have my room. All they could do is put me in a smoking room. I took it because I needed a place to stay. And as far as I can tell I still paid the extra that I reserved through Kayak for a non smoking room. The room smelled like smoke, and the lady at the front desk offered to spray it for me. Really? The bed and pillows had burn holes in them, which I had to disclose so I could get my $50 deposit back. This place is a joke, do not stay here!
The bed was very comfortable and made every day of our stay. It is very easy to get into downtown because it is right next to the main highways.
This place is overpriced. Unless your main objective while visiting Portland is to visit the strip club next door or go bowling at the place across the street I would not stay here. There are hardly any amenities available even if requested. The worst part? There were bugs in the bed.
Cheap and good location No refrigerator, no laundry, extremely cramped. Have stayed at other Motel 6's that had much better amenities and more space.
nothing to like here The staff was unfriendly, the staff were not polite. The room when we got to it had dirty yellow sheet and was stinking. When we asked the staff to do something about it, they said they were understaffed and all the other rooms were taken so could not do anything about it.
location was ideal for Portland. Close to downtown, could take the bus and be there in10 min. Close to Safeway and convenience stores. required payment for wi-fi old CRT type TV took up too much space on small desk picture was not very good. noisy A/C Staff was helpful and was able to save a few bucks by correcting the occupants to 1 adult and 1 child (kayak had defaulted to 4 adults) No way you can fit 4 adults in that small room
Close to bus stop A fridge and expensive wifi
I liked how conveniently located it is. It's a short drive to downtown. The fact that wifi is extra is a reason for me to reconsider staying here again.
