My room was clean and there's laundry facilities available. The motel is located in a rough area and there were shady, dangerous people lurking around the area and hanging out at the motel late into the night. Also, I couldn't sleep at all because someone kept banging around in another room near me. Constant loud noises all night long like sirens blaring, tractor trailers, and ghetto folks shouting.
The distance to downtown Norfolk and Virginia Beach areas is relatively short. There are many restaurants, stores, and nationally recognized vehicle maintenance shops within walking distance. The room furnishings are not well maintained. Sink and shower have very low water pressure. Bed covers and sheets old and stained. I used my personal sheets and covers. This is not a glamour spot. Would not recommend for unaccompanied women.
I had positive experiences with Motel 6 in Norfolk as well as in Jonesville, NC. I booked a room at Motel 8, but it was a Hotel 6 when I actually arrived. :) I needed a refrigerator...didn't have one on 5/28, but did on 6/2. :)
Clean, cheap, cool ppl Its not in a good area at all. Its in the projects. One guy tried to rob me at gunpoint at 3 am but failed. They tend tp wait around the corner of 24/7 atms and rob the ppl who get cash. Lots of people coked up or cracked out. Drug deals everywhere. People smoking blunts in the parking lot and big parties in multiple rooms. Keep in mind this was a saturday night. Lots of police around but they didnt seem to do anything about any of this unless gun shots fired. Btw everyone seems to pack a gun at night here so you might want to do the same.
nothing. The hotel told us our room would be ready by 3 and when we got there they told us that we had to wait. Others that were there and waiting for their hotel room had been waiting for over 2 hours when we got there. We were told to wait as well and the reason was because our room was not clean and they only had one person cleaning all of the rooms. We eventually left and found another room at the econolodge next door.
Area with a ocean view was nice. BEDBUGS, don't do it!!!! It took the front desk guy 20 minutes to check me in. Room were DISGUSTING and they reeked of cigarette smoke. I never took my shoes off the whole time. We stayed here once two years ago, and it wasn't the Hilton, but it was great for a couple nights. This time I won't go back.
Price was great as we weren't staying long Looked run-down and not kept up, very poor part of town
Close to beach, no bugs, needs alot of updates. Very outdated, paint, bathrooms need remodeled, breakfast could be a little bigger. Stayed 9 days. Pretty quiet, nice staff. But again you get what you pay for. Lights and phone didn't work. Had 4 lights only 2 worked. Phone had no cord. Alarm clock had no where to plug in. Breakfast was toast, frozen waffles, tiny cinnamon rolls, and cereal.
location, bed, tv all furniture broken, outdated, shower curtain insufficient, room cards particularly susceptible to demagnetization.
I liked the pool and that it was next door to my sisters condo that's it. Staff was extremely rude. The rooms were extremely not taken care of, crayon coloring everywhere. Breakfast consisted of Raisin Bran and toast. Price was ridiculous for the poor quality when I could have had a much nicer hotel for the same price a few miles further. Will never go back.
staff was rude had to ask for towles everyday gave me a smoking room (i dont smoke) people outside room talking loud staff did nothing couldnt get a good night sleeppool had some kind of film on top didnt get in
Nothing about Super 8 was pleasant. Where do I start let's see Poor Service, Dirty Rooms, Nothing in the room work not even the lights, Door didn't close all the way, The room smelled horrible, Bugs (Dead and Alive), The linen was dirty looked like someone was already sleeping in the room and didn't clean it.
The Economy Inn Ocean View Naval Base would have to be described as the very definition of a dump. Not that one expects a lot from the Economy Inn but even by their desperate standards this place must take the prize for being bottom of the barrel. The carpets were so dirty and sticky that you could feel the pull through your shoes. There were supposed to be two sconce lamps above the the beds - in our room one was simply a broken arm sticking out into the air. The little desk had a smashed drawer that looked like it had been pushed back into place by a sledge hammer. There was an air vent in the bathroom that clearly hasn't received even a cursory cleaning for a very long time (ever?) and was covered in a vile yellowish substance that looked like congealed rancid butter. I could go on but why bother. The only good thing I can say about the place is that the young woman who was the night clerk was incredibly sweet and probably deserves a medal for her patience dealing with the couple in front of us at checkin who were outraged that they couldn't get a room even though their credit card was declined.
Absolutely nothing Everything. Had to hang window curtain myself after finding it balled up on the floor. Room not clean. Hole in wall for shower head. Dry wall shavings all over floor.
Vince and Carol, the new couple that manages the location, were friendly and helpful. They have made efforts to improve the clientele and reputation of the location. As soon as I checked in there were flies in the room. Sink area was dirty from a previous customer (snot on the mirror, body hair in the faucet), toilet wouldn't flush well and the air conditioning unit was extremely loud and made it difficult to get a restful night of sleep. Room was rarely, if ever, attended to by cleaning staff. Their no-refund policy from ownership would suggest a quality location that provides exceptional services, but in fact is not worth the location. Hotel lacks military-friendly policies.
