My husband and I stayed at this hotel resort for 2 nights, 3 days - July 2009. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of this hotel was wonderful. Beautiful location and setting. The lagoon access room we reserved was wonderful. One of 3 infinity pools was right off of our balcony - perfect! Room was well stocked, clean and comfortable - definitely 5 star.The outdoor facilities (swimming pools, pool side service, water sports) were great! Many complimentary water sports to take part in - water aerobic class, kayaking and snorkelling to name a few . The sea was a bit rough the first and third day but the water temps were perfect! Gardens were in immaculate shape! While at the beach free towels were offered to use and also a small cooler with water, mister and cold facecloths! However not all the restaurants were open and the ones that were open were not all that exceptional which is what you would expect from a 5 star hotel which is as expensive as the Al Bustan.. T...
I stayed in this hotel in August 2012. It was the hot off season for Muscat, so the hotel gave me an excepionally low rate. This was the best deal I have revieved from a Ritz Carleton ever. Great pool and beach area. Hotel lobby very nice. However, the food was only average.

the gardens were amazing and the breakfast buffet fantastic and included in the price the rooms had showers only it was a shame there was no baths, the lighting made if difficult to see however made the rooms look great. The room design was all about making them look fantastic but they lack practicalities like some where to put clothes or hang towels. The hotel is on the beach but it's not a pretty spot there are better beach hotels like the omani dive centre
The incredibly beautiful rooms and grounds; the food which was for the most part gourmet; the extremely professional staff; the location/beach Value for the money....it was definitely on the expensive side.
The friendliness and efficiency of the staff - nothing was too much trouble. Food was great. The setting is not ideal being near to a factory but other than on the beach you can't see it. The beach is average.

Me cobraron mas que ponía en la reserva y se me habían olvidado cosas en la habitación que solicite ya 2 veces por email que me lo enviaran, sin respuesta ninguna. Muy mala atencion para un Hotel donde la noche sale a 340 Euros!

Las habitaciones eran silenciosas y confortables, lo que en Muscat es raro. La relación calidad-precio es justa. Para lo caro que es, no ofrece nada original. Está lejos de todo. La comida es carísima para los precios locales y no se puede ir a comer a ningún otro sitio a pie. Los taxis tienen pactadas tarifas más caras para los clientes del hotel. Te cobran las llamadas telefónicas locales, cosa que no ocurre en otros hoteles omaníes de menor categoría.

La ubicación y la amabilidad del personal, tanto el de recepción como el de servicio El hotel necesita una renovación, o ajustar sus precios a las condiciones reales de mantenimiento del mobiliario, moqueta, etc...
Excellent hotel for extended stay as they provide kitchen and utensils if you are interested in cooking your own food. located in a mall with theater so convenient for shopping and catching up with a movie. Breakfast. Room rate included breakfast. But very limited options, all below par quality. Omelette - dont order. it is egg fried in oil. they pour atleast 10 teaspoons of oil and then egg. so basically the egg is fried.

It was close to the airport This hotel it too expensive for what a dump it is. This is a hotel that should have be either raised or totally remodeled a long time ago.
Could not Check in until 1am! I arrived at the hotel at 11pm!
Pleasant hotel,clean but in need of refurbishment. Staff were very polite and welcoming. Convenient location for airport which is ideal for the business traveller. Bar is lacking in atmosphere. I thought the bar lacked atmosphere, however as I only stayed for one drink this was not a problem

only stayed at your hotel for 7 hours, while waiting for later flight home in London. The room was fine, and the evening buffet was excellent! However the reason we stayed with you, was to send words, pictures, and video to London. Myself and my travelling companion are both journalists, and were working from the Hotel. We found your internet service very poor and slow, and for most people working from a Hotel away from home or office, internet speed is of paramount importance. if you want to attract business people to your Hotel, internet speed, ease, and access in your rooms is very important!
hotel staff is cold. swimming pool is cold. furnitures in the room are old. BUT prices are high. I really don't understand why it is a 4 stars hotel !
Positives: 1. Location 2. Parking 3. Room size 4. Staff friendliness 5. Breakfast variety and setting Negatives: 1. Sound proofing poor 2. Table lamps with broken or missing floor switches 3. Inconsistent towel supply; varying every day 4. Some metal works in bathroom rusty 5. Armchairs were useless and I challenge any human being to be able to sit comfortably on them (later got them changed with slightly better but still uncomfortable ones). 6. Delivery of morning paper inconsistent, one day there, another day not. 7. TV picture quality very poor 8. Refrigerator not cooling (later got it replaced with a working one) 9. No advertisement of New Year party held in the hotel (found about it the day before by accident) 10. TV size not matching with room size 11. Poor lighting in the room.
Spacious and clean room. Breakfast was good. Staff in restaurant was excellent. Ladies in reception were concentrating more to each other than to customer. They didn't know the difference between credit and debit and asked if I have another card (which I gave to them because I noticed that it was hopeless to discuss with them). We gave list of goods which we took from mini bar but they didn't accept it. From their own list was missing goods. It was not question about big money but I would like to see that persons who are working in reception should take eye contact to customer and not just murmur with each other.
