Location to where I needed to be. The bar food was outstanding. Young bartender very accomadating. Bar and Bartender very, very busy; manager just standing around not helping out.
Misleading Location, it was listed as a city hotel but was a long way from the city.
We have stayed here many times but not in recent years. They have improved the interior and as always the staff were professional.
No free wireless internet access in room.
The staff/hosts for the dining room were very rude, further more at breakfast time no allocation of staff to specific tables, this caused much confusion,as they did not know who was serving who or clearing which table.
That there was miscommunication between kayak and the Hilton about the pricing because I was charged extra
The Hilton on City Ave is making an effort to improve as evidenced by the renovations. Walking off the elevator onto the floor my room was located it is clear that changes are being made. The room looked very nice with new furniture and a modern design for the shower. The beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately the remodeling was eclipsed by doors to the rooms on my floor making a tremendous amount of noise when closing. I was awaken late at night and early by people shutting their room doors. The noise was can be heard through out the whole floor. The front desk staff, while friendly were useless. On 3 separate occasions I asked about a car rental. One time I was told a bellman would call me with details. No call. It was not until the third time that I got the right info. However, the rental options were unsatisfactory ( no fault of the hotel). I could have been given the correct info the first time.
Great art deco water current was low. 1 restaurant
View from the room and location for my needs The parking situation SUCKS. Be prepared for either LONG walks for your car or the expense of valet parking. The long flight of stairs to the lobby is a challenge for the elderly. Otherwise it was a good stay.
Close to where we needed to be, this is a well run hotel with no major deficiencies. The small charge for parking is an annoyance, and the lot is unconventionally managed, but this proved to be no problem to us.
We stayed one night after a show at the Tower Theatre The room was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. No real complaints.
Large room. Kitchen was nice to have Walls had some visible repairs. Sheets had a small hole. For the prices your paying you shouldn't see those kind of issues. Overall very clean. Must have gotten a bad room. But was disappointed in the quality to cost ratio.
Room was huge...bed comfortable. .all room amenities were perfect. Pool was nice and morning breakfast was great. Also very clean. No bar....no restaurant. ..Valet parking fee was ridiculous for each day which made the booking price not so affordable.
The breakfast was to die for. Something different every day, from Eggs Benedict to eggs and mushrooms, and always delicious. The house itself was charming, and the owners were very friendly and accommodating. Also ideally located for the University of Pennsylvania, which was where I needed to be. I really enjoyed it, and would definitely stay there again. It's a house, so the doors aren't necessarily the greatest at blocking out sound. There was a noticeable gap at the bottom of my door, and I could easily hear anyone in the hallway. It didn't bother me, and no one was loud late, but it could be a problem if you're very susceptible to noise. Also, some people might not be comfortable with walking back alone from the university area at night: it's about a mile and tends to be pretty quiet, passing the edge of a cemetery and a park. I have no reason to think it's unsafe, but if such things make you nervous, be aware.
Nothing!!! Condom wrappers found on the bed, smells like poop in the room, floors are gross and dirty, found rats, no heat, no tables or chairs, People selling drugs outside, people yelling at night really loud, no working TV..
ABSOLUTELY NONE ROOMS UNCLEANED, BROKEN A/C, NO FRIDGE, SMELLY ROOM.. VERY UNSATISFIED
They didn't even change the bed sheet
I loved that the hotel was cheap and in the greater Philadelphia area. I didn't like that it was dirty, my TV didn't work, there was no iron or ironing board, no shampoo/conditioner, and it was an old-school key lock which made me feel a bit less safe than typical.
There was absolutely nothing that I liked here. Phone lines down. The name of the hotel doesn't match the name on the outside of the building. The parking garage smelled of human waste. There was no shower curtain. The bedding had cigarette burns in them. The doors didn't lock properly. It rained. So did the ceilings. The AC was stuck on. I genuinely expected Dexter to come in and kill me. I didn't sleep.
Everything about this hotel was absolutely horrible. The staff was so ignorant and rude. Hotel needed extreme updates. Room was so dirty. Had maintence knocking on our door at 7am telling us to clean someone else's fried chicken trash that was in the hallway. This place is the real life American horror story hotel. This hotel should be closed.
Gentleman at the front desk in the morning was very patient and accommodating Sheets and blankets were scratchy and appeared unwashed, toilet didn't flush properly, AC fluctuated between extreme heat and cold, walls were paper thin, door didn't lock properly, no one was at the front desk in the evening, music playing all night in the hallway, phone didn't work, no one answered the phone when we called, felt very unsafe and feared our items being stolen
Price last minute on a weekend. This hotel is a mess. I tried to check in on the phone as we were stuck in traffic and wouldn't be arriving until after midnight. I waited on hold for 15 minutes because they were "changing staff". When we arrive we drive past it twice because it doesn't look like a hotel. There was some ghetto party that was letting out when we arrived and it was like walking into a zoo with people out front yelling profanity and all of them drunk. The parking was blocked by these same folks who were too drunk to get their cars successfully out of the parking lot. The lobby is straight out of the 70's and you get a key fob with the room number on it (nothing screams patron security). The rooms are dull and out dated. No modern emeritus (not even the basics). The shower tiles was proven in several spots. The shower towels were ripped on the edges and frayed. No additional pillows or towels to be found anywhere. Oh and the toilet was clogged when we arrived and glogged again during our stay (not from our doing). In the morning before check out we were awakened by what can only be described as another ghetto room party in the room down the hall. Screaming, yelling and laughing all heard as clear as day from several rooms down the hall. I have received significantly better service for $170 and much cleaner and safer accommodations! Probably could have spent half the money at a bargain chain hotel and felt more taken care of and safer. Save your money if you are looking at this place. It's not worth $50 and you spent three times that bc it's in the city and they jack the rates up on the weekends.
