The staff were excellent, very friendly and very willing to help in any way The sqeaky floorboards in the hall outside the door.
As the weather was not very good we used the Bay hotels pool facilities which were great as the pool etc in the Esplanade were very disappointing
Reception and bar staff were extremely helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble Room was above function room and music was very loud until midnight and couldn't get to sleep then kept up by the stream of partygoers heading back to their rooms for the next hour. Our room was below a family with young children, very loud and kept us awake and woke us up early morning.
The cleanliness and the variety of food were the excellent features which appealed. As I am short in height, I did not find the chairs in the lounge very comfortable.
Great hotel, small but pleasant pool / jaccuzzi area, large, modern bedrooms, large tv (very limited digital chanels), great location litterally overlooking fistral beach & some great out of season deals as well as vastly reduced room rates, ie 50% off restaurant voucher on arrival, buffet breakfast £5.Ideal base for winter golf break if you can get the right deal. Very limited TV chanels, 8 at the most
The cleanliness of the rooms was particularly good, and the staff were very friendly and helpful The heating being on was a bit of a pain
The excellent reception staff. I arrived - late - after an unexpected visit to hospital. They couldn't have been more helpful and produced a snack even after the kitchen had closed. Full marks!! The breakfast really was very cold. Cooked at 0630 - 0700 no doubt and left under poor heat lamps till I went for breakfast at 0830. Such a shame!
near to the beach, recommended brekfast menu, every day the same.
Charming hotel. Great value, nice friendly staff, delicious food. Loved the lobby area with the view of the beach and comfortable chairs. Easy access to beach. Location was terrific. A larger television with more channels would be nice!
Location. Views. Helpful staff. Very little parking. Poor temperature control made showering nearly impossible.
Excellent location, friendly staff, lovely room and great value for money. We had a great weekend at The Glendorgal and hope to return sometime soon.
The hotel was very clean, very well presented, and the staff were superb. We had to change room as there were loose tiles on the floor of our bathroom, but this was done smoothly and pleasantly.
Receptiontist on duty the evening we arrived could not of done more to make up for the poor quality of the room etc. We were offered a sea view room in exchange. On arrival the car park was full of building debris and did not appear a safe place to leave your car ! View from patio door of groty wall oposite, patio door did not work and daylight was visable at the top of the door, lifted and broken tiles outside on walk way, grouting missing in bathroom and shower, tv remote did not work. We expected better quility for the price.
The View The cost of the food
The guest room, the location & the leisure facilities Restaurant & bar facilities.
From the minute walking in the door, the service was friendly and the lady on reception (forgotten her name....she was pregnant) was amazing and made us feel very welcome. Our first impressions of the room were that it was pretty simple, but very clean. We could just about see the sea through out of the window - which was great as we'd booked a land view room. The facilities of the jacuzzi/pool were included in the price of the stay and we were astounded - it was lovely.
location on beach was fantastic dining room overlooking sea room was too warm
the sea view was stunning. The location and car parking was excellent. The room was clean, bright, comfortable and welcoming. The shower wasn't good. Breakfast was not up to the standard of the hotel. Wifi cost £5 per day...this was not stated in advert.
Quick and easy way to book hotel. None
The size of the rooms was very good. The views were amazing. The carpet in our room was very course and hard. And in mid November the room was quite warm.
Hotel viejo, aunque aceptablemente conservado. Reservé por magnificas vistas, pero me asignaron la habitacion de cara a la carretera. WIFI grautito sólo en el Bar (no en todo el hotel) la orientacion de la habitacion...no fue a la playa, sino a la carretera.
Good breakfast, nice views, hospitality bar a good idea, friendly staff. Small room and very noisy because of traffic.
Views were good, however we had the valley view overlooking a nudist camp. The Mermaid across the road had its advantages too.
b'fast yummy and staff friendly; aware of environs directing to sight seeing and lovely restaurants
The bar set-up and breakfast room. Breakfast was god quality and portion size. Tacky room furnishings.
Very relaxed and laid-back: staff very friendly.
The location and staff were excellent. the hearty breakfast was freshly cooked and set us up for the day. Sue and PAul were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. we would stay again and recommend the Windward. Though it didn't matter to us, guests should be aware that there are no restuarant facilities for evening dining. Nothing
Excellent hotel in superb location. Clean and comfortable room and excellent breakfast. Nothing; I wanted to stay more nights!
The ease and pleasantness of the owners. the location away from the usual hub-bub of Newquay. the views that were available from front of house. all-in-all an extreemly pleasant time was had by me and my guest from America who went home with very fond memories of her stay.
A very warm welcome on arrival, we stayed in room 11 with a balcony with stuning veiws of the sea and Newquay, breakfast was very good, would stay again.
Swimming pool, recreational activities, location Not all the rooms have been upgraded yet, drinks service in the restaurant sporadic, lots of 'turkey and tinsel' pensioners
nice hotel good location and good room having to order evening meal at breakfast time
The hotel was easy reach for Newquay and was able to do some lovely walks from there, The 3 course meal was very good value, and the service was good and everyone was very friendly. The hotel was very basic, it was our Ruby wedding felt it would of been nice if there was some music.
Film show provided on Saturday evening! Nice pool. Rooms comfortable, airy and spacious. Table tennis and pool table great for the kids. Quite a long walk into Newquay and limited to choice of places to eat within a short walking distance.
\\Friendly and helpful staff. runnng out of what was on the menue when main chef was off.
Excellent help from staff especially the gentleman on the late night shift who gave me wake up call, toasted me some breakfrast and arranged taxi to airport. No phone in room
We were made welcome Decor is a bit 'dark'
lovely staff, family freindly, fantastic breakfasts, warm and cosy in the room and close to shops and sea front. station just 5 mins walk away.my 2 childrens first time in cornwall and want to go back to that hotel tomorrow! nothing when i stayed..
The people at hotel were very friendly and made us so welcome. No
I liked the owners, they were friendly and it made all the difference, they would help you in any way. Noise of the people above my room, also had a room at the front of the house which was a main road so could hear the traffic.
friendness, relaxedand clean quite
I stayed two nights in a single room and loved it. The owner is very, very sweet and helpful; she did her very best to make everything perfect for me. Breakfast was delicious. The bed was comfortable, the room spotless, and everything was great.
the staff were wonderfull, really friendly and helpfull, due to the fact that there are only a few rooms and its a very quiet hotel i would say its a great place for a romantic weekend. The location could not have been better as it was a stones throw from the beach and various shops, pubs and restaurants.
The best place in UK
The owners were very friendly and nothing was too much work for them. Made us feel very welcome and everything was very clean. Would recommend it too anyone and will deffinatley be going back again.
The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The location was ideal and the breakfast was lovely. Could not fault it.
For all of the above reasons I had booked a smoking room and they were not able to give me one
Please write at least 15 words Room was cold and damp bed had blankets which were dusty stayed on top floor which was dark bed room windows rattled all night with the wind
Friendly staff who were very helpful. Lovely room with seaview Nothing at all
Location was central
very friendly and helpful staff decor a little dated
My husband and I have stayed at The Bristol for over 30 years. The standard has always been high.
It was easy to find and the food was very nice. The decoration was attractive too. The staff seemed plesant and helpful. My name is debbie elson - I booked the above room for janice smith who I understand liked her room. I stayed in room 155 booked by ken pearson. My room and especially the bathroom were freezing due to the old draughty windows. Also the bed was very small. I notice some rooms had the windows replaced - the sooner you get the rest done the better!
good location not much atmosphere, but staff very friendly
Good sized room.Availability of tea and coffee making facitities in room.Good cooked english breakfast
Location, views, parking and knowledge of some members of staff re the history of the hotel, also staff serving breakfast on the Sunday very polite and efficent. View out to sea good but on looking down lots of building material, ladders and scaffolding poles on first floor roof. Would have liked information re swimming pool on arrival, but this did seem to be restricted due to building work.
the beautiful sea views and decore and design of a beautiful hotel. parking is awlful and our car was hit in car park, think we werent the only ones! no room to move and too small spaces.noone stopped and hit and run!!!!
Glad we up graded room, hotel heated very well during this time of year. to use the sauna facilities you had to purchase a card in order to use the it......not on for this type of hotel very petty.
Room standard was much higher than expected Heating was turned up too high and there was no way to control it in the room. Also just having a standard double bed was disappointing - in a 'deluxe' room I was expecting a King.
Elegant, well appointed hotel exuding charm and comfort. Spacious dining and common areas with very appealing decor. Large, very comfortable room with walk-in closet and very comfortable bed. Excellent food. Outstanding location on a hill over-looking the sea with beautiful views. Parking space was limited. Sea view room over-looked the roof of the dining room below.
Courteous, polite staff. Room mix up on arrival which was sorted out and we were given an upgrade with no fuss and all went smoothly. Would definitely stay again.
Awesome views. Luxurious hotel with amazing history and fabulous location. Nice compromise between modern requirements and traditional features. Very well kept decor. Price is good. Food is good. Breakfast lovely - with amazing views too. They are working on the place regularly to improve it, but you don't really notice it happening. Never tried the pools, but they look very inviting. Rooms are always incredibly hot even with heating off and not all rooms have sufficient windows that open or aircon. Showers vary in power. Room descriptions are generic and don't always describe the room accurately.
We very much liked the location and views, the excellent facilities, the amazing decor of the reception area/lounge and the practicality of the family room. The staff were also very polite, helpful and friendly. The ten-pin bowling alley was a great bonus! Some of the areas in the hotel and our room were a little dated and jaded and would greatly benefit from the same face-lift as the reception/lounge. The hotel has huge potential and we look forward to staying there again.
Everything about this hotel was excellent from the very first welcom, the food, staff and the location. Couldn't fault it.
Welcoming and efficient Food was fabulous N / A
Staff were very considerate and kind. Views were amazing from majority of the hotels windows. Room was clean and comfortable. Food to order at breakfast was very good and buffet selection was varied. The Terrace provided a good choice of meals with a lovely view of the beach. Dinner menu was a little limited. Room and the food and drink on offer were a little pricey. Didnt receive hotel information and room service menu till last day of stay which was unfortunate as we felt we missed out a little on what the hotel had to offer.
The staff were helpful and courteous, the food was fantastic and the hotel itself was very welcoming and luxurious.
The relaxed atmosphere, great breakfasts and the attentiveness of the catering and reception staff.
Excellent food, staff were always very helpful, view of the sea, every where very clean Spa and swimming pool - not very impressed with, needs updating.
The accomadation was extremely clean and nicely decorated.
The kindness of the hostess, the beauty of the sea sight, the bedroom was confortable. The lack of discretion of the neighbours, and their agressivity the morning- after, instead of apologizing as politeness should have required
The welcome was warm and the owners were very friendly. The room was clean and well decorated. Breakfast was spot on. Fantastic value for money. I would definately stay there again.
Owners very friendly and helpful, room comfortable, plenty of pillows, shower good, great sea views The room was a bit cold and there were no extra blankets available when we arrived late at night
The room was spotless and the views towards the beach and the sea were marvellous.Owners were polite and helpfull and made the stay pleasant.I would not hesitate to use Hotel Tregella for business or pleasure in future. No.
Very comfortable & clean accommodation & good cooked breakfasts Central heating was switched on if evenings became cool None
Very nice, relaxing, owners were very helpful and very nice to speak too, good location, nice room, good breakfast.
The location was fine and the host was pleasant. The room was tiny, only one powerpoint, water pressure poor and too many stairs to climb with heavy suitcases.
Great hospitality, lovely very helpful people. Nice rooms with nice furnishing, good location. A place where you can really feel at ease.
I liked the fact that the owners were naturally friendly and helpful without being intrusive. They were very approachable. The position of the hotel was ideal, the room comfortable and homely and the breakfasts were just perfect. At no stage did I feel uncomfortable being there. No negatives!
The sea view the twin room and carpet needed hoovering
Specially the location of the hotel is absolutely fabulous! Than, the members of the staff were fantastic as well, being very friendly and always ready to help and give you tips about the city, what to do and where to go. My girlfriend and I will go back for sure!
Good location, near to beaches and shops. Twin room only had a single wardrobe and no full length mirror. Tv was too high for me to switch on. Mattresses too soft. Sheets were not changed in the week. I had to ask for clean towels which I got once in the week. Would book a sea view and bigger room if I returned.
convenience of location
the staff where very friendly and always willing to help. some of the cleaning services. As there was atill a bar of soap in the shower from people before me in the room. Which made me question how well the room is cleaned and checked in between vistors.
the location of the hotel, staff knowledge was good , about places to see .
The staff were really friendly, I liked the location and the downstairs were nice. The room wasnt nice and I didnt have a TV for the first week and half of my stay. I didnt get value for money there, I could have stayed somewere which was probably a nicer hotel for the same price and got bed and breakfast
Great Staff, Great Bar, Great location in a good town, Good Value, Great breakfast None really
Very relaxed friendly atmosphere, with lounge and bar facilities finished to a 4 star standard.
Nice location and nature site Outworn furniture and rooms
close to town noise and the parking terrible
this is a family run hotel and the attentiveness of staff is second to none. The position on Newquay seafront is unparalleled.
friendly and well-trained staff
The excellent view to the sea and the staff was all lovely and helpful, the location was also very convenient to the centre as we liked and also down a quiet street so no noise was heard Not at all, i would definately return if we decide to go to back to Newquay again.
the staff were very helpful our room was above the kitchen the noise from below was quite loud but it didn't go on all night. The hotel is far more suited to the elder guest
Beautiful sea views, location close to town, beach etc Not particularly friendly staff & management, dated decor and in need of maintenance.
the friendly staff, location, food and the view from our room. small bathroom usless shower tiny sink.being mooved to another room
The location of the hotel was superb! Trebarwith has stunning views. The staff could have been more respectful to us as guests and realised that even though we may be young we are actually professionals.
The staff were friendly and helpful especially in the resturant at breakfast. Good food, fanstastic location & clean room.
Greg and fiona were very friendly and welcoming, parking was not an issue and the rooms were very clean.
Nice room and friendly hosts None
The breakfast's here are amazing! Room was always kept topped up for us when we were out. Plenty of very useful local knowledge given to us from not only other guests but by owners. Very relaxed atmosphere, more than accomodating and owners had own little bar in the hotel and were very sociable! In all honesty I really can't think of any! Except maybe having a larger shower room but thatsjust greedy!
Friendly helpful owners Small bathroom, towels not changed every day, difficult to dry them
easy to find and the staff were brilliant, many thanks to greg and his wife,a superb effort all round, breakfast was excellent, hospitality outstanding and i,m sure we,ll use this hotel/b an b again, even poppy the dog gave us a warm welcome. the shower/toilet was a little on the small side, but that didn,t bother us.
Our stay at The Three tees hotel was very pleasant, the atmosphere is nice, the staff was very helpful in giving us informations about the surroundings (we were travelling with our motorbike trough Cornwall).Newquay is a beautiful place for young people and sea lovers (and surfers!).
Freindly atmosphere and clean room with sea view. They had dogs but they still kept the place spotlessly clean.
Lovely welcome even though we were late, nice room, lovely breakfast . The bar and conversation looked good but did not have enough time to sample it, maybe next time. I know it was late in the evening but the shower was cold. Thats it !!
The en-suite was very small
