The pool area was very relaxing and comfortable The pricing for food and drink in the pool area was too high.
Staff Noise Fans Tiny balcony Price
The room, the bed, pillows, shower, and the size of the safe. The daily parking fee of 22.00 and the additional 2.00 for taxes . Our card didn't work in the parking meter. We had to go another one. The a/c vent next to the bed was loud and the a/c kicked on.
Comfortable, friendly staff and great food
From LAX took the super shuttle to the hotel. Room was ready hours before expected check in. Reason for stay was for business conference at Universal Studios. We took the courtesy shuttle both days to Universal in the morning. Upon check out, Terene at the front desk was so helpful in arranging a rental car and checking prices. Would definitely stay there again. My only complaint was I wanted room service from the kids menu and they wouldn't let me because I wasn't under 12.
The bright, open property is contemporary and quiet. The pool area is large, organized and clean. After driving by twice, we finally realized that BG on a building behind a driveway sign advertising a restaurant was the hotel. Pulled up to check in & unload but was whished away by the valet to move the car. Handed him the keys to move it but he declined...kept insisting I move the car to a lot then check in, go back to the lot to get the luggage then I had to move the car to the overnight lot...all because the trolley shuttle was due anytime. This was how our stay began. The resev. request and 2 calls for a ground floor unit went unheard. 7th floor near the 101 freeway & all the freeway noise. No iron/board in the room & waited over 30 mins to get one that was broken. Print your airline boarding pass.... $5.95 per 5 mins. Really? I addressed each concern with the attentive front desk. They waived the parking fee and asked that we please stay & not go elsewhere.
Lovely orange color, romantic atmosphere, clean room
Everything was stunning. It's a nice hotel surrounded by greenery and a very friendly staff. The rooms were clean and warm. What was nice was that you could walk to whatever you needed and it was all at most a 30 minute walk away. My friends and I went to universal via their trolly and walked home. It was a very plesant experience. The pillows went flat really fast.
everything. except the elevators were broken. truly hurt me. both elevators probably won't effect your trip but it made mine difficult. besides the elevators, the parking is a bit far but okay. everything else is awesome.
Convenient location to Universal and other Hollywood landmarks. Wait staff, rude. Front desk, not helpful. I would not stay here again nor recommend others based off the customer service alone.
The room was nice. Bed was comfortable. Lots of walking. No valet when I arrived. Self parked - walked to check in - given a parking pass to put in my windshield - walked back to parking lot - back to lobby then out to one of the furthest building on the property. Lots of kids running around. Outdoor or non-airconditioned hallways made for what seemed like a long trip on a hot day. The staff at the check in desk were not busy (I was the only customer at the time) but they didn't bother to tell me there was parking closer to my room.
Loved that the TV had BBC America channel. Loved the small patio outside my room even though we didn't have time to make use of it. Enjoyed the breakfast in the café - was able to get exactly what I wanted because the restaurant was flexible.
The only ice machine was too far away.
Could not use the shower! Price was too high Cost was put on card at time of reservation instead of when I checked out.
Good location for where we needed to be and when we told some locals about the gnats they were surprised as they hear the place is always sold out. Very retro California in decor. I think we would stay again. Maybe. Our first room had gnats, but we were immediately moved when we asked to be moved. Unfortunately all that was available was a room next to the elevators. We took it but were able to move the following night to quiet room. Unpacking 3 times was annoying but the staff was very accommodating to switch out our rooms.
The hotel is very nice and clean. The beds are comfy. I like that this hotel offers a shuttle to and from Universal Studios. Nice pool area. And the cafe has very delicious food. I was impressed with their food. Delicious! I would definitely recommend this hotel. You can kinda hear your neighbors in the rooms next door. But wasn't too much of a big deal. Would also be nice if the rooms had mini fridges.
Loved it! Hip but relaxed. Great location! Will definitely stay again when in LA.
Flew in early, check in scheduled for 3pm, but staff found me a room as early as 10am. Got to recoup from jet lag right away. Noisy cleaning staff woke me up with talking in the hallway and then vacuuming. But in their defense it was already 10am.
Very uncountable beds . The sheets has a very bad smell . Bathroom not clean right . And I found a underwear the not belongs to us ...
The location is great if you don't want to be in Hollywood. Best location in the valley. Parking is good too. Walls are paper thin. Really terrible. You can hear everything (and I do mean everything) going on in every surrounding room. The shower tiles were falling apart as well. Seemed like they did the bare minimum to qualify this as a luxury hotel but it's a glorified Holiday Inn.
Parking was easy Pool was massive!! Good location Hotel interior/halls could be modernized more. Rooms should have a mini fridge.
The bed was very comfortable. Finding our room the first night was very difficult. Someone should have walked us to our room and carried our suitcases for us. There was no elevator to our 2nd floor room.
Room was clean, direct tv with all the channels, close to places to eat. Outside area wasn't the best, next to a motel 6, breakfast area too small.
Location Absolutely horrible accommodations or lack there of. Towels were like sand paper and there were about 6 tv Chanel's and they all sucked.
Clean little retro motel in a hip neighborhood. We were only there for a day but there were enough shops and restaurants to entertain us within walking distance while we waited for friends to pick us up and continue on our vacation. Tiny room for two beds but it was fine for a short stay and everything was updated. Staff was helpful allowing us a pretty late checkout for a small fee... Good parking the tiny room size was a bit tight but as we occasionally enjoy experiencing these 'original' properties it was a non- issue... Towels could have been of better quality
Convent to walk to local restaurants and bars along Ventura Blvd. front desk was nice. Free parking outside of room. Easy check in and out. The room was quite small and could hear street noise if near the street side of the building. There were no extra blankets and the toliet paper wasn't a fresh roll, that bugged me most for some reason. It's ok for a motel, I would prefer to stay elsewhere given the choice.
