Comfortable high class luxury hotel with friendly serviceminded staff at a great location.
5 star without the attitude Nothing
Confort of the hotel
At the heart of Camps Bay. Restaurants and the beach is next to you. Hotel staff was so helpful.
Excerllent location, very comfortable and clean room, nice finish and decoration matching with seaside, quiet but convinient with shops, bars and retaurants within walking distance. Against to the price and rank of hotel, the breakfast shall have plenty of choices and also be free of charge, however, only buffet is free with limited choice and others, specially hot food will be charged.
Great location on the beach, many nice bars and restaurants nearby, and easy and beautiful drive into city. Rooms are very elegant, restful and clean. A lot for your money by US and European standards. Service at breakfast seemed spotty. Management doesn't seem to have empowered staff with enough information or authority to answer basic questions or make basic decisions.
Wonderful location, beach front and great friendly staff
The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. The ground floor bar could be a little more organised - slow to get the bill and ran out of nuts....not a major problem though
absolute perfection and professionalism, bar facilities with the fire places briliant views from room, friendly and efficient service of the staff, 24hour deli and the cocktails are for sure the best in town - brilliant in all ways
The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was excellent.
This hotel is all about location. 5 stars for location but not for anything else! If its location you are looking for then its worth the money. Not a high standard at all. Rooms very basic and cheap looking! The service in this hotel is extremely poor from reception to lounge staff. I would give it 2* tops! If its service you want do not stay here.
Very good welcome in reception: conducted tour of hotel facilities: excellent restaurant: swimming pool and surrounds: courteous service; excellent spa Room was comfortable if a bit dark and with no view: should have freshly squeesed orange juice at breakfast
staff service Our room was 33 square meters, quite small.
Wonderful location and amazing food surrounded by ocean and mountains in Cape Town! Best sunset in the world with wonderful lounge and deck to view over the Indian Ocean!!!
charming boutique hotel by SA standards, wholly overpriced, but obviously priced with European and US clientele
Everything was very nuce Restaurant for Dinner
Nick and the team made us feel really special with an upgrade and drinks. They helped us book the best local hotel for a tasting menu and we had a really lovely last night of our holiday! We left our passports there and they kindly hrlp d with an emergency run to the airport so they could deliver them to us!
Staff were extremely friendly
Reception was very welcoming and helpful. The room was large, modern and attractive. I booked a room w/o view but the view from the public spaces bar area and pool was very nice. Good value for location in Camp's Bay. The bar area has a computer that guests may use. Anywhere in Camp's Bay, incl. here -- People with bad knees may need to check location of room before booking -- some rooms have a lot of steps. Parking directly at the hotel may be limited at peak times, but parking on nearby road is available.
the staff were wonderful - we have a fantastic stay at the hotel - couldn't wish for a better location.
The excellent location at the beach.
The staff was extremely friendly, the room was beautiful and well-decorated, and the location was great as well, close to camps bay and cape town as well
Fantastic seaview, modern room design, great attention to detail like flower petals on the bed, staff excellent. Would stay there again.
The hotel is in a fantastic location; far enough from the beach to be quiet, but close enough for access to all the restaurants and bars along the sea front. The staff were helpful with our bags on arrival and were friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast was also good. Car parking facilities are limited at peak times
beautiful rooms, tasteful interior, very clean and beautiful location close to the beach, lovely view. Friendly and helpful staff, it rather feels like staying at a friends house than merely being a guest at someones hotel.
Staff were all friendly and willing to help from the manager down. Nice home-from-home atmosphere with really superb sea views and sunsets. Great position from which to get to see surrounding attractions. Breakfast was freshly prepared and more than adequate. All in all, really enjoyed our stay and would recommend them to anyone interested. Parking facilities are possibly at a premium but which I believe will be resolved.
Very friendly nice people preparing breakfast every morning for us. It is 3 stars hotel, not 4 stars. Room was a very small for two people. We booked throw internet and gave a different impression, as we could get the same acomodation for chipper price.
no one interupted us. it was a peaceful and relaxing weekend
the views the quality of the rooms. ie: they need updating and a gould make over
The view from the hotel Very old wooden furniture with old carpets. Superior rooms did not have swimming pool as was promised on the website (there is only one). Large room but too expensive
Good comfortable rooms for good value. Friendly atmosphere from staff, who were also attentive. Price of taxi transfer they arranged to the airport was extortionate, which spoiled an otherwise excellent trip.
Location and attentiveness of staff
We stay in the main room and everything was excelent, the view magnific, localtion like heaven
Everything! Great location and amazing views from the breakfast room/lounge in particular. Nope.
Very central to the sea front and restaurants in Camps Bay. Staff behind the desk were very helpful. Attention to decor detail was poor thus resulting in having a room which did not live up to our booking expectations.
Close to camps bay Hotel sent an email expaining that we had to get in touch by the day before our stay to confirm our room. As this stay was at the end of a three week holiday it was only by chance that we had time to use the internet and saw the message. Not sure what the policy would be if we did not confirm ie would we have arrived and no room would be available
The Retreat is situated in one of the best areas of Cape Town close to the busy life in Camps Bay - but with its gardens, mountain swimming pool and luxurious surroundings the perfect place to relax. When you arrvive, you feel instantly pampered because the staff is very friendly and caring. We can higly recommend dining in the restaurant, the food was outstanding and we were able to watch the sunset while dining. Due to this place our trip to Cape Town found a very romantic end! We are looking forward to stay again at the Camps Bay Retreat Nothing, everything was an absolut treat
Nothing. Everything, we checked out as soon as possible! The rooms are dirty, the staff are rude and the food is poor quality. The swimming pools are dirty and the grounds have dog dirt on the grass. Call it a 'Retreat' - we were woken at 6.00am by neighbours dogs and unable to rest due noise. We are still awaiting our refund for the last 2 nights which we agreed with the duty manager that we could refund.
We liked everything, on arrival very friendly, professional and helpful staff. The room was nicely heated on arrival and everything so luxurious!! Spa bath was an absolute treat. Breakfast was divine and a wonderful selection of choices for any palette. Being nestled in this little forest with breathtaking views of Camps Bay in the middle of a big city makes this the perfect getaway, if you are living in Cape Town even better. A quick walk on the grounds down to the beach and you are close to all the action. Brilliant!!!
Staff was wonderful, always trying to assist you in any way they can, always friendly, couldn't be better. Location is fantastic, only 15 min. by car/taxi to the Waterfront in cape town. Beautiful garden. We had a great room, spacious, with a grand terrace, just wonderful.
The hotel is in a fantastic location and the staff were so friendly, all our special requests were taken care of. I was treated to my 30th birthday and we decided to have room service as the view from the room is just breathtaking, we didn’t want to leave. What topped it all off, is that they made me a birthday cake which was a huge surprise :)
This is a beautiful resort, in a beautiful city. The staff was very helpful in arranging everything we needed from restaurant bookings to tours and went out of their way to help. I asked one of the employees (Richard) if he knew what type of bird it was rustling around in the bushes. He went to their library, looked it up in a book, found me later and brought the book to me so I could see. The maid was a bit lax about filling up the free amenities. The first night we had chocolates and botteled water with our turn-down service. This didn't happen again until night #7 :-(.
Very attractive accommodation (deck villas) in nice environment (close to upscale Camps Bay beach and hospitality district) with original floor scheme (open bathroom, big sundeck). absence of wi-fi internet. Access through fixed line did not work.
Breakfasts good. Serving staff good. Views and grounds good. Reception on arrival we were told we only had room for 3 nights instead of 12 and wanted us to move to Bay Hotel. Unacceptable and said no! Carla from bookings was useless. No apologies from any staff. No real customer care/service. At price should be better. Room not very clean.
