I picked this hotel close to downtown (centro), which help me to be close to different restaurants and historical buildings. The hotel is clean and affordable, staff was always caring and answering my questions. Swimming pool, restaurant and computer desks, made my stay easy. Although the hotel is in the center of the city, was quiet. Love the decor. My room was next to the pool, clean bathroom and nice and clean sheets, great bed and pillows. Love it!!! I forgot about the free breakfast....I was not told, so I went to the restaurant, instead :(
I loved the old historical building, which was in fantastic shape. The staff, in general, didn not speak English, but were still very accomodating. I was amazed that it was within walking distance of the downtown area - like 5 minutes. It was also a plus that La Parrochia was located right next door - great for breakfast or a quick cafe leche. I have already recommended the hotel to friends and might return myself.
My biggest problem was that I booked a suite with travel website and got a regular two double bed room . NOT the fault of the hotel. The people at the hotel were very courteous. Some at the front desk did speak some English, Although the night of check in after midnight, we had another guest join us and were told that we had to pay an extra amount,we asked for a reciept and were told it would show up on our checkout statement, then later found out that the guest was included in the pkg deal we had purchased and there was no record of the extra fee paid .So apparently the money got pocketed by that deskman and since there was no record of the transaction, I didn't get that money back. The housekeeping staff was very promt and did a great job.The continental breakfast was okay. I did love the courtyard setting and the pool area.It was very quiet and clean. Was probably one of the most authentic Mexican hotels as far as appearance. I do recommend this hotel, very reasonable price-( just...
