This property just doesn't feel like a Hilton in Asia. Hilton managed properties in the US are normally fine hotels. In Asia, usually an even higher standard. This hotel is old, dated and reminds one of a typical state-owned hotel in China. Not up to Hilton standards except in price. No free internet except in lobby (I find this totally unacceptable these days); breakfast not included. Situated in an area with nothing around the hotel.
I found the hotel to be very upscale. The amenities were just as explained. The staff was very friendly. The buffet everyday was different and delicious. There was a nice quiet piano bar in the lobby. I was very pleased with everything and would definately return to this hotel. The rooms, lobby, hall ways, elevators, etc., were very clean and well decorated. I enjoyed a very quiet and peaceful 14 nights in Chongqing. The concierge will help you with all your needs. You don't even have to leave the hotel to enjoy your time in china. But, it is great to walk the streets. The hotel has a great location.
This was my 2nd trip to the Chongqing Hilton. I consider it my home away from home. The staff was wonderful (minor money issue, but soon corrected). I would stay there over and over. I understand this was China, but they need a few more English speaking skills for those of us who do not speak Mandarin. In the international world today ... this is needed.
