Ventajas: Honestly one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed. The rooms are a generous size, the breakfast is delicious. While all these things are true it is really the people that makes this special. Miguel who owns the hotel with his family is a brilliant host we particularly enjoyed being shown around his wine cellar and our cooking lesson! Lucy is also absolutely brilliant and so kind I really enjoyed talking with her. All the staff were brilliant and gave us an excellent stay. The cherry on top was Paco the pug!
Desventajas: The only thing I would change is writing this review! I don’t want to give the secret away of how special this place is.

Ventajas: Wow, staying here was the perfect end to our Portuguese road trip! Miguel and his lovely family did everything to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. The hotel is set within a tranquil countryside location with modern and spacious rooms which were immaculate. Our 3 year old enjoyed exploring the organic fruit gardens and our teenager loved the pool. The hotel also has a restaurant, bar and wine cellar so it is perfect for those days when you don't want to venture out but still want to experience Portuguese culture. The roof terrace allows you to view Faro and surrounding countryside and at night, is was great for stargazing, my husband wished that he had his binoculars! All this and yet only 15 minutes drive to Faro - we will definitely visit this gem of a hotel again!

Ventajas: What a find! The hotel is beautiful; clean and modern with lovely traditional touches. Breakfast is a continental self-service buffet with plenty to eat with staff on hand to offer coffee and even made to order pancakes. Dinners are excellent, skilfully prepared with local produce. Location is a peaceful setting not far from Faro town, but what really makes it all work so well is Miguel and all the staff who work so hard and went the extra mile for my wife and I to make sure that everything went smoothly including bike hire and wine tasting. Nothing was too much trouble for them. As we had an early flight on the day of departure, a packed breakfast was prepared for us to take away. All in all,we had a great time and we will be back!
Desventajas: Nothing. It was all perfectly satisfactory.

Ventajas: Pedro was wonderful, super welcoming anf with great communication. The guest house was peaceful and relaxed with a lovely ambience and great location for reaching the harbour and old town. Lots of lovely space for guests - bar area with Port tastings when available, lobby with seating/books etc, pool room. You can see that a lot of effort is going into upgrading this lovely house for 2020. So much effort to make guests happy. A plentiful breakfast was served by a lovely lady and consisted of meats/cheeses/pastries/juice/coffee/fruit/yoghurt. Thank you for a lovely one night stay! We will return to Faro!
Desventajas: I dont wish to sound too negative, the welcome here was amazing as was the location for our one night stay. However, it is useful to have constructive feedback. I found the bed very uncomfortable, though my husband slept fine, I did not, in fact hardly at all. It was a very hard bed, I did not like the blanket under the cotton sheets, you could feel the pattern on your skin which was irritating. I would suggest higher quality beds and/or mattress toppers as a good investment. The outer covers were super heavy, but I used them folded as a base to combat the grainy feeling of the sheets! I also felt that some fittings/facilities could be upgraded for better quality (like the bed) ie the hairdryer, the waste bins, the linens. We noticed the Opus logo design on everything, but this cost would be better used on really great sturdy fixtures/fittings in our opinion.

Ventajas: The room was clean, comfortable, and modern. The bed was spacious. The shower was consistently hot and didn't cause any problems.
Desventajas: The hostel was renovating the space right outside our window. Even with the hostel's own quiet hours between 9pm and 10 am, workers were banging hammers by 8:30am and 9:45am and we got far less sleep than we were planning around. Though we stayed here previously, the TV in our first room was far better than our second room, due to the TV lacking an HDMI port for our Chromecast.

Ventajas: Eliza was very friendly and full of guidance. Very positive and bubbly person. It was so easy and enjoyable to talk to her. As I was on my own she made my visit very happy. The guest house is central, the property is spotless and had everything I needed. There is even a communal kitchen where you can have your food if you don’t want to go out. Merry Christmas Eliza. It was lovely to have met you.

Ventajas: We had such a warm, inviting, friendly, informative welcome on our arrival by Eliza. In our opinion, an absolute asset to the place and remained so helpful and charming throughout our stay. This place is a little hidden gem in the very heart of the centre of Faro. It is spotless, well equipped and rather charming. I would have no hesitation in recommending Happy House. Thank you for a lovely stay. The only thing that would make thing perfect would be a sitting room inside as well as the roof top area.

Ventajas: La terraza es increible. Delante del mar con vistas a los barcos. La cama era muy comoda tambien. El desayuno estaba muy bien también, aunque podía mejorar un poco más.
Desventajas: Una de las duchas salía con poca agua. En general en la recepción no estaban siempre ahí las 24h y había que esperar cuando necesitabas algo.

Ventajas: The Hostel faces the river/lagoon with a view across the marshes to the Airport and town. The associated restaurant/snack/bar bar is the other side of the road on the beach and faces out to sea. It was amazingly peaceful sitting on the Hostel terrace looking out even with the noise of the planes taking off in the distance. We had the 4 person room for the two of us. Small but perfect for our needs. Really comfortable beds, phone/usb charging points and a little private bathroom. Our stay was off season so no breakfast option (off season the restaurant/snack/bar doesn't open until 11h00). It was not a problem as there is a small general store 5 mins walk away (near the water tower) where we could buy some things to eat on the Hostel terrace watching the Spoonbills, Egrets, etc feeding on the river banks.

Ventajas: The cleaner Suzanne kept the place so clean. She was lovely and so freindly even though she spoke little English. The hostel was spotless. Beds very comfortable and easy access to bed side lamps and charger for phone. View out on the Bay was lovely and balcony area was very spacious with places to sit and eat.
Desventajas: The staff were not very freindly. Very rarely did they smile at me or know my name even though I booked in for 8 days. Only Suzanne the cleaner remembered my name

Ventajas: El personal era realmente genial, la ubicación era buena, las camas eran bastante cómodas aunque eran dos individuales y como que me prometí que queríamos una doble.
Desventajas: Internet wi-fi no funcionaba, las camas estaban encajadas- y había tres, cuando sólo necesitabamos una doble- el servicio de habitaciones selección era muy pobre, las instalaciones estaban bien, pero la piscina era absolutamente fría, la ducha goteaba por todas partes y el baño tenía moho en lechada, control de la temperatura de la habitación no funcionaba así que en un día caluroso estaba derramando aire caliente en la habitación ... que decir que era un hotel de cuatro estrellas, tiene dos estrellas Me alegro de que el personal es fantástico porque el resto de era muy pobre. Sin duda nunca volvería.

Desventajas: The shared bathroom is disgusting. The high pressure from the toilet flush causes faeces and other nasty things to go all over the rim, seat and floor. One bathroom between many guest is uncomfortable. Taps leak too.

Ventajas: I highly recommend living in this hostel. I had a chance to live 3 nights and everything from check in was on top.It’s not the season now, so there were few people. I felt like at home. The breakfast is not very extensive, but the price for the stay was pleasant. The mexican dinner with latin music was very tasty:) Thanks guys on the reception. Seeing Faro and this hostel, I wanted to continue to get to know Portugal Obrigado.

Desventajas: La limpieza muy muy justa. La primera noche debajo de la cama una botella vacía de plástico..da a entender que mucho no se limpia. Da aspecto de sucio en general el hostel. La habitación del primer día un zulo, en la planta baja...todo bastante destrozado y el baño caótico con una bañera muy desgastada. Me ofrecieron cambio de habitación al día siguiente y la situación mejoró bastante. Estaba en mejores condiciones y más grande. El desayuno justo: pan, café, cereales, zumo de botella, embutido y manzanas. Conclusión: para una persona acostumbrada a albergues genial. Para una persona acostumbrada a otro tipo de alojamiento mejor buscar otra cosa...

Ventajas: Ubicación inmejorable: entre el casco antiguo y la zona nueva peatonal. El hostal tiene una cocina de uso común y varias mesas donde sentarte a desayunar. El desayuno incluye café, té, zumo, tostadas y cereales. La recepción está ocupada 24h y se pueden dejar allí las maletas/mochilas después del check out.
Desventajas: La habitación doble con bano privado es bastante básica. El agua caliente tarda mucho en salir de la ducha y esta carece de presión suficiente. En el bano no hay jabón ni champú pero te dejan un secador de pelo en la recepción si lo pides.

Ventajas: El desayuno excelente, la persona que lo gestionaba fue amable y muy atenta. Muy bien situado.
Desventajas: Siento hacer este comentario, vaya por delante. Pero al salir del hotel pedí la factura, no me la podían dar impresa...lo entendí y me aseguró el chico de recepción que me lo mandaría inmediatamente por email. Parking espacioso y gratuito. Aire acondicionado en las habitaciones con bomba de calor. Articulos de baño de cortesia. Sinceramente lo aconsejo. Pero ojo los duros a cuatro pesetas se acaabarón con el cambio de moneda.
Desventajas: Un poco dificil la primera vez que se va, se pasa por delante de el y no te das cuenta. Esta paralelo a la autovia que va al aeropuerto de faro. o meter las coordenas en el gps, y si no podeis o no lleva esa opción, tanto dirección aeropuerto o una vez que os hayais equivocado desde el aeropuerto salida montenegro-universidad. Ojo montenegro solo no, montenegro universidad. y es muy sencillo.

Thank you to the yoga nieces from California for their hospitality and friendliness, as well. The info about ayuraska was extremely interested for me and I' am sorry that in the morning /today, I mean/ I did not have time to wash my dishes and say good-bye to the blond young lady, but I had to run to catch the bus to the Faro airport / in which I suceeded with one second accuracy!/ So, one of the best hostels I have been to, I highly recommend to each visitor of beautiful Faro

Ventajas: Close to the airport, good for an early departure. But prices are too high: a clean place without personnel would not be much less in feel-okay but could be much lower in price.
Desventajas: Small room, saggy beds. The aircon wasn't working properly. In the lowest position (5) it was still blowing warm air into the room. According to the receptionist there were only two possibilities: 5 for cold and 25 for hot. He did give us another room. There is breakfast from around 04:00, fully DIY, so items are standing there for a long time and are dead cold.

Ventajas: Pedro was wonderful, super welcoming anf with great communication. The guest house was peaceful and relaxed with a lovely ambience and great location for reaching the harbour and old town. Lots of lovely space for guests - bar area with Port tastings when available, lobby with seating/books etc, pool room. You can see that a lot of effort is going into upgrading this lovely house for 2020. So much effort to make guests happy. A plentiful breakfast was served by a lovely lady and consisted of meats/cheeses/pastries/juice/coffee/fruit/yoghurt. Thank you for a lovely one night stay! We will return to Faro!
Desventajas: I dont wish to sound too negative, the welcome here was amazing as was the location for our one night stay. However, it is useful to have constructive feedback. I found the bed very uncomfortable, though my husband slept fine, I did not, in fact hardly at all. It was a very hard bed, I did not like the blanket under the cotton sheets, you could feel the pattern on your skin which was irritating. I would suggest higher quality beds and/or mattress toppers as a good investment. The outer covers were super heavy, but I used them folded as a base to combat the grainy feeling of the sheets! I also felt that some fittings/facilities could be upgraded for better quality (like the bed) ie the hairdryer, the waste bins, the linens. We noticed the Opus logo design on everything, but this cost would be better used on really great sturdy fixtures/fittings in our opinion.

Ventajas: The Hostel faces the river/lagoon with a view across the marshes to the Airport and town. The associated restaurant/snack/bar bar is the other side of the road on the beach and faces out to sea. It was amazingly peaceful sitting on the Hostel terrace looking out even with the noise of the planes taking off in the distance. We had the 4 person room for the two of us. Small but perfect for our needs. Really comfortable beds, phone/usb charging points and a little private bathroom. Our stay was off season so no breakfast option (off season the restaurant/snack/bar doesn't open until 11h00). It was not a problem as there is a small general store 5 mins walk away (near the water tower) where we could buy some things to eat on the Hostel terrace watching the Spoonbills, Egrets, etc feeding on the river banks.

Ventajas: Un hotel bastante espacioso y completo en cuanto a servicios disponibles, con habitaciones amplias y cómodas. Personal muy servicial. Unas vistas magníficas desde la terraza y el comedor/desayunador.
Desventajas: Para la ropa, tal vez un diseño "demasiado minimalista", dado que en la habitación no hay armario, solo unos percheros, aunque no nos supuso ningún problema.

Desventajas: - El parking ,lo califico de pésimo . - En las plazas del fondo, hay un saliente en la pared, paralelo al suelo (conducción de tuberías) , más alto que el coche, y por tanto los sensores no avisan, pero de esta tubería sale una puntilla vertical hacia abajo que me perforó la luneta trasera y ésta estalló. - El hotel no reconoce responsabilidad, porque el parking es público ,concertado con el hotel.

Ventajas: The whole experience was brilliant, breakfast was awesome we were spoilt for choice. The room was clean and presentation was above board. The location is in the right spot from local shops, restaurant, the boats, old town the view outside of the hotel is second to none. My first time to Portugal I must say I had a brilliant time and I look forward to coming back again can not wait.
Desventajas: it was a bit difficult communicating with some of the room attendant other than that everything was ok.

El The Story Guest House goza de una ubicación privilegiada a solo 300 metros del centro histórico de Faro. El hostal se encuentra a 100 metros de calles llenas de tiendas, boutiques, cafeterías y restaurantes. Las habitaciones tienen acceso a un baño compartido y vistas a la ciudad. Algunas habitaciones tienen balcón. Hay conexión WiFi gratuita en todas las instalaciones del Story Guest House. Ventajas: Room was nice and comfy. Mini balcony was a plus! Bedside tables would be nice on both sides :) We didn't use kitchen or patio much so cannot comment on these. Bathrooms were nice, there was enough so we didn't have to wait.
Desventajas: Noise travelled around the building a lot especially because our room was right opposite the entrance to the patio and next to bathrooms so when people shut the doors and talk in the patio it's a bit annoying. Also the wind I guess due to open door to patio was banging our doors so we couldn't sleep in the morning.

Ventajas: Super limpio teniendo en cuenta que hay zonas comunes. La recepcionista muy amable. La zona perfecta para caminar a todas partes. Volvería sin dudarlo. Wifi funciona bien y rápido.
Desventajas: La calle es un poco ruidosa y la ventana no se puede cerrar así que tuve que usar tapones para los oidos.
