I stayed one night at Fern Tree while transiting through Basseterre. Hazel provides Caribbean hospitality in an authentic and unique setting. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. Hazel is a pleasure to chat with on the porch. She helped with all necessary taxi arrangements across town and to the airport.
Quite neighborhood. Very friendly host. Breakfast was great. The dinner served was like a king's feast. No AC.
It was very nice and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a delicious personal experience and was offered when l had awaken in the garden yard. This stay was not like a typical hotel; Gave more of a "at home feeling", was quiet, and I didn't feel like I was just another guest. Internet was good. The Ms Hazel and Ms Josephine were the sweetest. I would definetly return, without hesitation. Great Bang for Buck! That I had to leave.... :(
We spend 9 days at Timothy Beach resort. All the employyes are extremely kind, everybody does their best to accomodate your needs and be helpful. Some rooms need some renovation, but is you look around at other hotels on the island you realize at Timothy they're doind their best. I would not reccomend Sunset Cafe. The food is not good and is overprices. BUT go to Shagaddy Shack the food is wonderful, fast service, great prices!! For breakfast buy something at Ram's or take a cab and go to a supermarket in Basseterre (it's not far away)and enjoy your breakfast in the room on the terrace !
Recommend room #30 which is on the 2nd floor. Views of the Caribbean and the Atlantic from the balcony. Full kitchen with small table for 4 and 2 bar stools at the bar counter. Vervet monkeys live behind the resort in the mountains that come out in the morning and around 4pm. They are curious and make great subjects for your pictures. Beach bar serves up excellent rum punch and frozen drinks. Great place to watch the sunset! Excellent locale to walk to the Marriott and other restaurants...about 10 to 15 minutes away. Trade winds keep the bugs away and provide a nice breeze. About 100 channels on the TV to keep you and your family entertained. Bathroom has been updated with marble and fresh tile. All in all...excellent value for the cost!
my wife and I had a relaxing vacation. The room was comfortable and clean with an amazing view of the carribean ocean. we recommend eating dinner at the sunset cafe, it is a part of the resort, so you can watch the sun set on the ocean. the food and staff were really great too! Our waitress(juliette), was excellant, so was pearl, the accountant. my wife fell and required stitches, and Pearl on her off time went to the E.R. with us and stayed until we were through. She deserves a raise. best vacation we ever had!!!
FRIENDLY STAFF. NICE VIEW IF YOU GET THE RIGHT ROOM. CABS ALWAYS AVAILABLE.
Food at the Sunset Cafe was very good and the sunsets from the restaurant were truly beautiful. Friendly and helpful staff and service. We made friends there that we hope to keep forever.
WE PICKED THIS HOTEL IN THE MID-RANGE PRICE TO SAVE MONEY TO BE USED ON ACTIVITIES AND MEALS.IT WAS WELL LOCATED AND CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE.I WOULD RECOMMENT IT TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR THOSE FEATURES.
TIMOTHY BEACH RESORT WAS A NICE PLACE TO STAY. IF I WOULD EVER GO BACK TO ST. KITTS I WOULD STAY AT SAME PLACE.
My husband and I did not stay at this hotel, opting for the Marriott instead, however, we will stay here when we return. St. Kitts is one of those rare islands that isn't over-built YET. This hotel has, by far, the best beach on the island. While it is small, it has everything you will need, including the best places to eat. The food 'huts' are just shacks but don't let that fool you.X at Kathy's makes THE BEST Rum punch, for just $3 and her chicken meal is fabulous! My husband thought the lobster at Shiggity Shack was the best lobster he had on the island and he had it 3 nights. We heard great things about this hotel and it's staff. It's not 5 star, but it's clean in it's appearance. We chose to jog from the Marriott over to this hotel in the mornings for their breakfast. While the price isn't great, it's better than at the Marriott restaurants. If you're there in the morning the wild monkeys come down off the mountain for a visit. Watch out, the locals seem to be a bit afraid of them...
We stayed at the Timothy Beach Resort in August of '09. It was a really great experience because our room was about 100 feet away from the best beech on the island. We rented snorkeling gear a couple days and we saw some really amazing fish and coral. The Hotel's Sunset cafe is really good, I loved eating breakfast there and watching the sun come up. A short walk down the beech or 'strip' as the locals call it, will give you plenty of great beech bars and some really amazing food. Overall the hotel was clean and had all the amenities that we needed; Air Conditioning, 110v AC outlets, TV, etc. It is by no means as glamorous as the Marriott but in my opinion it is a better place to stay. The Marriott is like any resort you could find in Miami, It's really big and secluded, It really cuts you off from the culture of the island. All in all we had the most fun on this vacation and can't wait to go back.
I was first impressed by the spaciousness of the room (the largest I've ever had except suites), which included a full height refrigerator, range and microwave. There was an on-site grocery store which included an adequate selection in every food and sundry category. The hotel's oceanside location was convenient to restaurants, shopping at the nearby Marriott, and a world class golf course. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
I loved my stay at Sugar Bay St. Kitts and would certainly visit again and also recommend to friends. It was affordable, clean and perfectly located in walking distance near to the beach.
We really enjoyed our stay at Sugar Bay Club. It is a lovely, clean reasonably priced resort with beautifully kept grounds and lovely swimming pools. The room was spacious, cozy and comfortable. And the sounds of the waves from the nearby beach added a nice soothing and relaxed atmosphere to our stay. If ever in St. Kitts again, I will definitely stay at Sugar Bay Club.
The location was convenient in the middle of townThere was plenty of space in the room The security of the building was highA good breakfast was available at a reasonable costThe air-conditioning was effective; important in a tropical location A long flight of stairs from the street to reception and the rooms.
Beautiful boutique hotel in St. Kitts. Away from cruise ship crowds, also distance from the beach. However, the hotel offers a free shuttle to and from the beach/ downtown area. The service is outstanding! I stayed for a week in February 2010, and I felt like I was staying with family. Best part about the location is that you are on the edge of the rain forest, so I was lulled to sleep each night by the tree frogs, and at dusk I had great fun watching and photographing the green vervet monkeys. If you are looking for a peaceful destination away from the crowds, where you will be treated like a VIP, this is definitely the place to stay!
My wife and I stayed at Ottley's Plantation during the last week of June 2011. The service, food quality, and room comfort were all very high quality and exceeded our expectations. We particularly enjoyed the botanical tour of the premises by Marty, one of the owners, and, his family and inn staff extended a very warm reception. Ottley's also provides a daily free shuttle to the capitol, Basseterre, and to the main beaches along the southern peninsula. If your looking for a quiet comfortable inn, reflecting St. Kitts' sugar plantation past, Ottleys's is a great choice.
My husband and I booked a Supreme Room with its own pool and the meal plan. It was well worth the extra money to have this much privacy and amazing views of the ocean. The hotel offers a beach and town shuttle that we used each day and the rest of the time we spent beside the pool or walking the grounds of this amazing place. It really fits St. Kitts and what we think of as the Caribbean.
Our room was in the main house and was larger than an average hotel room and tastefully decorated. Service was exceptional. We felt as if we were were the personal guests at a gracious country estate. The staff was always helpful and did everything they could to ensure our stay was enjoyable. We happened to visit at a slow time, so there were times we felt as if we were the only ones there.
My husband and I just returned from Ottley's - what a beautiful and romantic place. It truly reflects what is so special and unique about St. Kitts. The resort's pool is set in the remains of a former sugar cane plantation and the spa overlooks the entrance to the rain forest!
Ottley's plantation was the most beautiful resort on the island. Accommodations were clean and roomy. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. The food at the hotel restaurant was a bit pricey, but incredibly delicious. The swimming pool was a bit cloudy and overchlorinated, but very relaxing. The rainforest on the property was magnificent. Be sure to enjoy the mangos that drop every few minutes just outside your room. There are rosy and floral flavored 'apples' near the rainforest that are out out of this world. Keep an eye out for cute little pigs, monkeys and mongoose. Ottley's is a paradise.
We returned to Four Seasons Nevis for our first visit since 2008. A lot happened over the years. It is hard to believe, but the resort is even better than it was before. The location and the facility are some of the best in the world. What really made our visit to Nevis special, wasn't the location (Nevis is beautiful) or the resort (which is great), but the people. The Four Seasons staff simply exceeded our expectations day after day. One night after a busy day, I was sitting in our room reading. There was a knock at the door. It was one of the staff. She handed me a piece of paper and told me that she thought I might like a Four Seasons bookmark. We had one of the best vacations of our lives. My wife is already planning a return trip. Thank you Four Seasons.
The Fourseasons Nevis was the perfect vacation. The resort was beautiful, but the staff and the quality of personal service made our week on Nevis the best vacation ever. We can't wait to return.
Truly an exotic paradise. Just for relaxation and pleasure. No stress. You are made to feel like you are the only one on the island.
Beautiful and unforgettable resort on a pristine island. The people of Nevis are friendly and relaxed and there is virtually no crime. The resort is relaxed and exquisite, don't miss a single sunset. The diving is fantastic. My only suggestion is to pack a small travel bag to carry on. Since there are only two passenger flights into Nevis a day many suitcases get left behind due to weight restrictions. I long to get back to The Four Seasons in Nevis!
Great hotel and location...very kid friendly, but also offered areas for 16 and above. Watersports team was outstanding and very friendly. Hotel staff was excellent and always very welcoming. Tons of excursions... Run or walk the golf course trails. Limited options for dining and service was slow at times. We did go off site to Bananas Bistro and Coconut Grove restaurant and the food was outstanding and a must do. I'd avoid the sea turtle excursion.
My wife and I still have the most incredible mental pictures of our stay in Nevis and our time at the Four Seasons Resort is a major reason we're still on Cloud 9 after being home for almost 5 days. We can't say enough about the warmth, professionalism and welcoming attitude of the resort staff, who pampered us in every way possible, from rides to and from the Great Room to our hotel room to tips and advice on travel excursions and many other hidden extras. The meals were always delicious and the service was first-rate. Lastly, the short half-hour golf lessons we received have already elevated our enjoyment of the game. Thanks for the memories.
Our dive club stayed here from June 20 to 27 Misery as follows: Basic room was clean and maid service was good Bathroom was in need of repair Door could not fully close Mildew on bath tub tile Dead bugs on several surfaces Food was very blah and repetitive Wine selection was bredb or bwhiteb White was terrible, red was unfit for human consumption Only one poorly-trained waitress for a party of 25 Juice served at the end of breakfast Coffee not ready at the end of dinner Buffet quantities not adequate for 21 hungry scuba divers Some nights, late arrivals did not get any of the entrC)e and management didnbt care The bartender was the most unfriendly man Ibve ever seen Constant confusion about what was and wasnbt included in our ball inclusive packageb Even a waitress was frustrated by the contradictions Part of the safety railing was missing on a very steep stairway with uneven steps The pool swim-up bar never had a bartender Our group ...
We travelled to St. Kitts from Nov. 11 - 17. Upon our arrival, I was disappointed in the conditions of the hotel and our room. There were a few minor maintenance issues that were handled for us. The hotel could definitely use a fresh coat of paint everywhere. The grounds are very lush and tropical, so that does make up for a lot. Then we met ABC (Captain XYZ) who heads up the dive operations and he gave us a tour of how Hurricane Earl really did a lot of damage to the property and completely took out the beach. Hopefully by the high season, the hotel, Rocky's Bar, and the beach will be back to normal. After the first night in a very comfortable bed and waking to a beautiful view from the balcony, I was much more acclimated to the hotel. The staff is friendly and are more than willing to do anything to make you feel welcome. My husband did four days of diving and a night dive with Captain ABC and had a very good time and some terrific diving which was very much up to the Caribbean stand...
I would be at the pool but it is closed. I would be at eh bar but it is closed. I would be at the beach located at the hotel, but it is very dirty. The room is marginal. Not as bad as I have stayed in, but far from great. I would suggest you do yourself a favor and stay at a hotel closer to the strip. I will not stay here again. I love the island however. The people are friendly. Down town is like Cozumel was 20 years ago. When you go to the strip eat at Cathy's. Next to the Monkey Bar. Excellent food. When you take a taxi, I would not suggest renting a car!
this was the worst trip ever!!!!! my room was terrible the airconditioning leaked, money was stolen, the closet leaked. everything went wrong. the staff was unfriendly and unhelpful they didnt even care that all these things went wrong. i would never stay here again.
Stayed at Bird Rock twice in 2008 - Feb and Nov. Rooms were clean and comfortable both times. When problem with sliding door was reported - received prompt attention. Beach was small and quiet in Feb. Good for snorkeling. Closed in Nov - being repaired after hurricane damage. Loved the pool - spent every afternoon there. Staff is very friendly - particularly loved our breakfast waitress at the restaurant. This is a quiet, smaller hotel - if you want 'action', go elsewhere. Renting a car? We did both trips from Bullseye Auto Rental. Owner and staff there were super! Will definitely rent from them again. Driving on St Kitts is easy, though downtown can get a bit congested. Visit the areas away from 'the strip' - Brimstone Hill, Romney Manor, the beaches on the south end of the island. The newer shopping area at the cruise ship port is nice - wander around or sit and listen to the 'two man steel band'. Check out the Circus. Love the island and plan on returning.
