Arts In Hotel Conde Carvalhal

The hotel fulfiled the expectation - very nicely designed & decorated, close to the old town. A very nice garden around with enough places both outside and inside the buildings offering privacy for relaxing. Excellent sleeping conditions. The staff (Beatrice and Marianne) was really very nice and more than helpful.

A small kitchen is part of studio offering. It was well equipped with small household appliances, but a smaller pot or a pan were missing.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere with beautiful views over Funchal. The room was very spacious with wonderful beds.

The kitchen was perfect if you only wanted to make toast and tea for breakfast but there were no pots and pans although there was a small 2 ring cooking hob.

El hotel es muy especial y Beatriz hizo nuestra estancia perfecta (esa mujer es una auténtica maravilla!!). La vista de las habitaciones en planta alta es muy bonita y el jardín precioso. El transfer desde el aeropuerto es un plus (aunque en nuestro caso parece que se olvidaron y tuvimos que llamar, pero no tardaron demasiado en resolverlo). La paciencia tanto de empleados como de clientes (nuestros niños no fueron especialmente silenciosos).

Tiene kitchenette, pero no había mesa donde comer algo. Había pequeños detalles que, sin ser malos en sí, nos pareció que no encajaban con el resto de las instalaciones y el diseño del hotel (cortina de ducha en lugar de mampara, tapa de WC de plástico...). Pero es una opinión personal y lógicamente no afectó a nuestra estancia.

An interesting if not slightly unusual experience,some very good home cooking,lovely staff especially the overworked and totally committed Beatrice.We will definately stay again.An ideal hotel for a short few days stay.

Organization and staffing levels somewhat lacking.

An excellent small hotel with a warm and welcoming feel. The hotel is 10 -15 minutes walk from the harbour, with ample parking in the underground car park. The hotel is quiet and the rooms are modern and well fitted. Beatriz is a star.

Great view to city and sea, private parking, very new room, elevation bed, very nice garden, good and kind service
